It is nice to see Topps Valor as a regular type of product, especially after the debacle in 2012. In 2012, Topps rolled out Valor as a new release that came in a tin containing six cards (two base and four hits). That products hit the market with a lofty price tag pushing towards $200, basically banking on the hype surrounding the rookie class. The collectors balked at the price after seeing what was coming out of it and prices dipped as low as around $100 a tin. Now, with 20 packs and the same hit output, it is a much better release.

Valor contains a 200-card base set which infuses a mix of legends, veterans and rookies. Expect to get close to half of the set in each box. Parallels are themed around military traits with all being numbered except for a hobby-exclusive parallel called Speed. Additionally, there are no insert sets.

Each box of Valor will contain four autographs or memorabilia pieces. Two will be an autograph and an autograph relic, generally centered around rookies. There are dual, triple and even quad autographs available. Shield Of Honor is the main autograph relic series. Base versions are unnumbered, but each set has various parallels still utilizing the same terms as the base cards in which all are serial numbered.
