It's hilarious how the site's biggest right-wing honks are going nuts over Obama's use of executive orders when the amount of his uses has been incredibly pedestrian compared to most presidents since 1900-- below the average among all presidents (44/year), significantly below the average of all Democrat presidents (59/year), and barely above the average of Republican presidents (34/year).
Obama has averaged 37 per year-- one more per year than GWB's 36. Were you complaining about his usage of them? Or is one per year such a significant increase as to provoke your outrage?
Note that these numbers were as of early 2013. More updated numbers put Obama behind Bush. But that doesn't fit into your narrative, does it?
Executive orders were historically used for small expansions of groups into existing laws that were either overlooked or not anticipated and they usually were done with Congress, not without. What Obama is doing is not characteristic of history as you are eluding to by pointing out the mere number of E.O.s presidents have issued in the past.
What is good for the goose is apparently not good for the gander...

I crack up every time that the left takes this statistical tact to defend the historical ineptness of Barry. No president has ever succeeded in such a power grab nor should they. It is disgusting to do this when there are millions of America hurting and in financial distress.

I wonder what changed Barry's mind????????

Ummm, look up presidential memorandum as well please. Add those together and lmk what you come up with.
Point is, this administration is one of the most shady and deceitful we've had in a long time.
Here's something to read.....

I don't care about the quantity, I care about the quality. Obama is using Executive Order to rewrite law. That is not it's purpose. He has used Executive Order to essentially toss immigration laws in the trash, to supersede the HIPPA privacy act, 2nd Amendment and 4th Amendment in one fell swoop, to change Obamacare after it was passed and while Democrats were complaining about Republicans trying to use law to change it...I repeat. Not it's purpose.
And let's not forget, he has used Presidential Memorandum, which works the same way as Executive Order, more than any other president. His use of Presidential Memorandum combined with his use of Executive Order puts him on pace to surpass the amount of executive actions by any president since Truman. In just 6 years he has already issued more Presidential Memorandums than Bush did in 8 years.

Great article. Love it when a center-left newspaper completely destroys the myth of Obama issuing fewer executive orders (than his predecessors) which seems to be one of the go to arguments on these boards.
