Post First Look: 2014-15 Panini Paramount Basketball

    http://www.beckett.com/news/2014/11/...nt-basketball/

Once in a while, a trading card company will dust off an old brand and infuse it with new energy to help it generate interest from both new and experienced collectors. In the case of 2014-15 Panini Paramount Basketball from Panini America, we are being taken back a few years with name alone as it has been completely overhauled for modern tastes.

Originally, Paramount fell under the banner of Pacific Trading Cards, but Panini owns the brand name and has chosen to resurrect it this season.

Releasing on January 7, each box of 2014-15 Panini Paramount Basketball is expected to contain nine cards and it is broken down into three autographs, one memorabilia card and five Dufex cards on average.

Another 'shiny' product. Getting ridiculous now.

We've seen these designs before. If they want to come up with a new product, it should look very distinctive. Or if they want to base it off Pacific, use the designs from their football sets in 1991 or 1992. I LOVED those side stripe player names and the glossy smell.

I don't even know why they are going back to the well for more Pacific stuff. I mean the company folded for a reason plus Paramount was one of their least popular sets.
