NASCAR‘s lone trading card manufacturer, Press Pass, reportedly will be ceasing operations.
“Sports card manufacturer Press Pass is closing its doors. Hard to stay healthy these days,” tweeted ESPN Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell on Friday afternoon.

Well if the doors close not sure how they could fulfill redemptions. Sure there will be further news in the future.

Well, I am not shocked. Trading cards have been depressed for a while now and only seems to be getting worse and while that is good for us collectors, prices are tough to swallow when buying boxes/cases. I hate to see who if anyone picks up the Nascar contract. I love Press Pass products and hope they find a way to come back even under different ownership with the same integrity and commitment to collectors as Press Pass has been known for. Press Pass never really watered down their products like UD, Topps and Panini. This made set collecting easy and enjoyable.

Couldn't come at a worse time with all the new up and coming talent making their way on the scene.

I'd be shocked if nobody picked up the license. Upper Deck has been scrambling for any way to make money that they are bringing back Canadian Football cards and minor league hockey stuff. If they, Panini, or Leaf don't gobble up this license I'd be shocked especially since Upper Deck did make NASCAR cards years ago.Selling All My Cards Here------>Hidden Content

You know whoever picks up the contract they probably won't have the hits press pass does and the boxes could be more expensive. Upper Deck always had some very tough auto ratios per pack.

If Panini picks it up it will the cards will be crap but Upper Deck has some brands that could work well in NASCAR. Though I don't think they'd be anywhere close to the quality that Press Pass has had over the years.
