    Jury Duty

Well it finally happened. I am just about 40, have spent my entire life in this country and have finally been selected for jury duty. Headed over to the courthouse here in about ten minutes.

I will likely have a little more input after I go through the process but a little part of me is curious and excited. Everyone seems to get irked when getting jury duty and I would be a liar if I said there are things on my desk that need the attention but I am still actually a wee bit happy to have the chance to participate.

Interesting wording on the top of my summons:

"You have been randomly selected"...blah blah blah..."Jury service is one of the fundamental rights, privileges and duties of living in a democratic society. We hope that you can serve and that you will find the experience rewarding"

    Wish me luck.

Lol, I've been called like 5-6 times in the last 12 years. Only sat on one case. It's tedious if you don't get called. I just find it kinda funny that I'm always called and my wife has never been.

I had always wanted to get selected. But now my profession bars me from participating. My wife has been called 3 times, but never had to be on the jury.

I did not know that being a male escort prevented one from serving on a jury.

I teach and they have 9 months to get me and what happens? I get called in for July. Long story short I was there for one day. I prefer federal over county.

I work in law enforcement and have been picked twice. Both times as I made it round after round all I had to do was say I believed in the death penalty and BINGO I was thanked for my time. I might bite my tongue and try to stay on one of these times,
