I agree with the statements above, given some of the 1/1's that are out there these were replacement stock. I have been tracking a lot of the Lemieux's and low and behold we have several matches. My opinion on show cards is that they help promote the product and make it more fun for a lot of folks. I personally don't go to the big shows for them, but I will pick them up when I can. Always keep in mind that this is a hobby and you are supposed to have fun with it so, if they make you happy great, if not move on, there are a ton more cards you can spend money on.

I especially like finding odd things for my player, such as today I found a Lemieux that is a parallel to an oddball Coke 25th. All the same, except on the bottom, it has a different logo than the Elby's that most know about. Now that made my day, something odd and cool all at once. Or like opening some old 97-98 Pinnacle packs, I see Mario in the background of the Thibault card, another awesome find that books at $0.30!!!

SO buy what you want, trade what you can and have a blast!!!

my sentiments exactly ... I wouldn't look for any 1/1 as an investment piece, but as a collector I'll buy if it's affordable.

learned a long time ago that hockey cards are not an investment.. there are a few exceptions of course but in the long haul this is supposed to be about personal enjoyment.
hence my main focus is on pugilists. and Leafs lol
