That story smells fishy from the beginning. As a former fire dept. captain I can say quite assuredly that A) teenagers are not permitted inside of burning structures. That is a major liability issue which no fire chief or captain in his or her right mind would permit, and B) blindly crawling around inside of a burning building feeling for stuff is not how firefighters do it.
Also, he returned a 3 week old puppy to it's rightful owners? 3 week old pups are not weaned. There should have been a mommy dog and probably a handful of others as well.

I was surprised by the suspension. I guess they weren't willing to cut ties with him. I don't have an issue with that. It will be interesting to see where their ratings go once he comes back. Plus they can get an idea if Lester Holt can draw the viewers in case they want to cut ties after 6 months.
