GLENS FALLS -- Those West Coast games run too late for Drew Shore. The Adirondack Flames forward tries to watch his brother play for Los Angeles, but the three-hour time difference makes it difficult.

Shore has played 68 NHL games but this is his younger brother’s first NHL experience and Shore wants to see as much of it as possible. He and Nick are very close — they talk multiple times a day — and Shore likes to reach out after a good game.

There’s something about hockey that draws families. The Dineens are the obvious example locally — every one of Bill’s sons work in hockey. Then there are the Sedin twins playing for Vancouver, the Zajac brothers in the Devils organization, the Staals (three of whom are in the Carolina organization), the Sutters who are all over the place and the list goes on.
