Republican congressman Aaron Schock resigns over controversy
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ge-claims.html
A flamboyant Congressman who spent $40,000 of taxpayers' money redecorating his office in the style of 'Downton Abbey' and spent thousands more taking a private jet to watch a sporting event resigned on Tuesday.
Aaron Schock, a Republican from Illinois, had faced fresh questions over 90,000 miles he claimed he had driven in a car which he sold with only 80,000 miles on the odometer.
He had already been in the spotlight over a series of expense claims. Along with the makeover, he billed $10,000 for a private jet trip to watch the Chicago Bears play football.
'Today, I am announcing my resignation as a Member of the United States House of Representatives effective March 31,' Schock, 33, said in a statement issued by his Capitol Hill office.

No surprise. Politicians are corrupt, feel entitled and have no respect for their office or the people they serve. Too bad it took so long to oust him. He should have been gone long ago. The Republican party is much better off now than it was before.

I wouldn't go so far as to say ALL, but they are definitely on both sides.

Your right but my opinion is 90% are corrupt. It is just like college athletics. All do something wrong even though it could be slight but some slide (Alabama) and some don't ( Miami,SMU,).

This guy seemed like he had no interest in even trying to hide his corruption.

Schock proved that you do not have to a 36 year veteran of the government to be corrupt. Can you imagine how much worse Schock would have gotten if he had not been caught?

Good riddance. He needed to go. He's from Illinois so it shouldn't come as a shock however.....
