US Drone Kills American Hostage, Obama Apologizes
President Barack Obama announced Thursday that a U.S. counterterrorism operation targeting an al Qaeda compound in January accidentally killed two innocent hostages, including one American.
Multiple U.S. officials told CNN the hostages, Warren Weinstein, an American, and Italian national Giovanni Lo Porto, were killed by a U.S. military drone that targeted the al Qaeda compound.

Brace yourselves folks. I am about to blow your mind. Obama did nothing wrong and does not need to apologize, not even on behalf of the government or military. Not only is it impossible to know where one person may be at any given time, these people were hostages of a terror group known for killing it's hostages. The likelihood that they were anything other than going to die is marginal at best. I see no need for Obama to offer anything other than an apology.

You'll probably be in the minority with that opinion, but I'm inclined to agree. These things are really unfortunate, but ultimately expected when you wage a war in this manner.

I would hope you won't be in the minority, this is something that happens, not Obama's fault. I can see being sorry for the families, but other than that, no need to apologize.
