Panini Panini Panini Panini (2014 Preferred ++++)

    Annoying right?

Building off of another thread, I wanted to show some more examples of the repetitive photography choices used by Panini.

We'll start with their next (unreleased) set...

"2014-15 Preferred Basketball will have a little dose of on-card brilliance just for you. Unique die-cuts, fancy foils, signatures horizontally at the top, along the bottom, in the middle, and vertically along the right or left side of cards radically redesigned for 2014-15. But 2014-15 Preferred Basketball offers more than just an impressive breadth of autograph possibilities. The product also manages to offer a completely new aesthetic (with the exception of the landmark Silhouettes) while staying true to the principles that have made Preferred one of the most coveted basketball brands in the industry."

Completely new huh? I guess that doesn't include photos :

Wow....I know Sikma is an old school player but that must be atvl another photograph of him to mix it up. Sheesh!

This is what happens when there is NO competition/alternative.

They must, I mean they hold the NBA licensing agreement LOL.

Bad & sad. Some great designs but just lazy execution on the photo end.

I knew they reused photos quite a bit, but this is an absolute joke!

I personally like the over used Bill Lambeer photo where he is pointing.

...and this does not count the 10 parallels within each set the same photo. Altogether with the complete rainbows of parallels, this photo is used 200 times on different cards.

    Indeed!

Haha, that is a good one...with the mask?

EXactly, boat loads of parallels per card. I thought the same thing but thought my post was negative enough LOL.
Glad other collectors are noticing the same things. Now it's up to the makers.

They don't care about collectors. They'll continue to do it if people continue to buy. Being the only licence holder, people are forced to.
