Phil Kessel opens youth hockey camp in Toronto

Nice guy, tries hard, opens hockey camp.

Toronto Maple Leafs sniper Phil Kessel has launched Fill the Net 81 Hockey, a week-long summer camp for boys and girls born in 2003 through 2006.

Kessel’s kids have the option to enroll in one of two one-week sessions, July 20-24 and July 27-31, at MasterCard Centre, the Leafs’ practice facility, at a cost of $695 (or $400 for goalies). A portion of profits will go to the Sick Kids Foundation.

Good on him, eh? For the amount of sh*t he gets from TO media, he still wants to hang around and give back to the community.

Kessel needs to open it now before they find someone willing to trade for a pure goal scorer who won't do anything else on the ice. I doubt once(if) he gets traded to a US Hockey market where he can spend more time fishing he will be so inclined, or able to charge $700.00 a head.

As well, it is only part of the profits going to charity.

Wonder if the daily agenda will include lunch at hero burger?
