Politics and Religion forum closes on July 1st

Actually that tavern is set to close at the end of the month. Guess they were tired of all the activity they were getting.

That's pretty sad. This is the main reason I still visit this site. Haven't been active in trading or sports talk for awhile, so I guess I won't have reason to come on this site anymore. I posted on this forum a ton when I was still in high school, and it was awesome to see other peoples strong opinions, and why they had them. It also made me question my own beliefs and made me study many things to see if I was actually right to believe what I did. This forum will be missed.

There are many other forums out there that deal with Politics and Religion. I think you will find that they have more opinions and more traffic because it is geared for P and R

Actually they are just filled with trolls, multiple account users, and a cesspool of posts. They aren't even good for the lulz.

Well the trolls part has kind of happened on here too. DOn't mean the be the minority but just not a fan of folks who don't trade AT ALL and are on here for P and R only. My opinion only but I am at peace with it.

As a person who has fully immersed himself with these topics online, I can definitely say a few things on the matter of P&R forums...

Most of them do ultimately fail for the very reason that it is SO divisive.

I personally was once banned from a website for doing nothing more than exercising free speech on the subject of P&R....albeit, free speech that unfortunately offended a particular person, and if you're wondering, no...it wasn't religion, believe it or not it was on the subject of rape.

Anyways, P&R are also the two topics people can't resist but talk about....it is so ingrained in our consciousness and even in websites where it is disallowed to talk P&R, it will always come out, one way or another.

In fact, making it unavailable to talk about, just makes people want to talk about it MORE....

A good point as it is something that can't be helped being discussed. Just now it can be discussed on another P and R board and all of us who want to discuss it can meet up there. This great site can carry on and will still flourish as a SPorts card site.

Wow, just saw this thread. As you can see from my feedback/post count/card cash total; I use the site for both the hobby and the P&R. This feels honestly like a slap in the face.

Maybe we could start some sort of Fan Club on Facebook where we can discuss things like P&R.

Not a bad idea. Someone start it up. On the cool even though with me working two jobs and having other things going on in my life I haven't been on here as much. I will admit some of the stuff on here use to piss me off but I hate the see this thread go. I used to love clowning all the repliclowns especially after Obama gave Romney an in 2012. Yes even though there is facebook there is nothing like mixing up with you jackals on here. If anyone of you want to add me on facebook pm me.
