If you're asking my at any point during their careers "who would you rather have on your team?" or "which one of these guys is going to the HOF?" Coffey is obviously the one you pick. He was the better player.
That wasn't the question though :)
I picked Lowe over Coffey becuase 1569 games is much more than 532 games. 5 Cups instead of 3. More All Star games as an Oiler too.
Coffey is one of the greatest offensive defenseman in league history. Lowe was the heat & soul type who was "Mr. Oiler" long before Ryan Smyth was getting tagged with titles like that. That's why I pick Lowe over Coffey.

I assume Linden is a given for any sane-minded Canucks fan, and I don't think I'm being too biased to put Hank and Danny up there too - while there's always a tendency to want to be fair and pick one player from every era, the 'nucks just really weren't very good for most of their existence... The last pick is a tougher one - Bure shone bright for a shorter period of time, Smyl was the heart and soul of an otherwise crappy 80's, Nazzy was a long term captain and had his jersey retire, and can't forget Lu or Captain Kirk in net... I keep flip flopping between The Steamer and The Russian Rocket, maybe if we just carve one Sedin on Mount Canuck-more to represent both twins we can shoe horn both of them in? Or is that just cheatin'

He may have won five cups but have you forgotten that one of Lowe's championships was with New York (most of that year's Rangers team were former oilers, come to think of it)? You mentioned Ryan Smyth - I would give him the nod over Kevin Lowe.

#1. Alfredsson - No doubt, holds 15 of the Senators records including Most Goals, Most Points, Most Games-Played
#2. Yashin - Has caused a lot of trouble in the past but he's worth it, has reached as high as 94 Points and was the best sens player in the 90's
#3. Lalime - Posted a .985 Save Percentage in the playoffs, enough said
#4. Karlsson - I might be looking into the future but three 60 point seasons as a D man (should of been 4 because of the lockout) and he's not stopping, although at times he is simply an extra forward because of his awful defending
