ITG Has Turned to the Dark Side...

There is no ITG anymore. When they "combined" with Leaf it was just a takeover/sellout/buyout called that so the fans that were left wouldn't panic or freak out and still buy the product. Leaf was and always will be running the show with the ITG brand.

A rumor back not too long ago was that Leaf had serious cash to throw around possibly more cash on hand than Upper Deck did. Don't know how true that ever was but they never seem to have cash problems. They gave Charles Barkley a blank check and said put down whatever you want for your exclusive autograph deal. Barkley turned them down like he has done with countless others but to even make that offer means you have lots of money on hand.

But to keep on topic I'm very saddened to see a redemption in Leaf In the Game Used. One of the best things about ITG (after their amazing GU) was their no redemptions inserted into products (not counting MTO's or HSHS's).

#3 - The end of ITG came when they were bought by Leaf. I will miss them dearly. This is a positive thing for me. It has allowed me to add to my 2004-05 Franchise Collection. To date for it has allowed me to add 32 GU'd & 3 Autos this year.

#4- I've been out of the hobby for the last two years or so I actually had no idea about Leaf buying ITG until the last few days. It would be really cool to see Leaf try to continue with little to no redemptions in their product, seeing how that's what made ITG different and in some ways more appealing, but obviously that's not going to happen.

I don't think there's 128 people that collect ITG....

I think we can safely say there are well over 128 people that find your incessantly negative, pedantic, and devoid of substance posts beyond annoying to say the least.

Anyways count me in as #5 for people who do collect ITG. While Leaf doesn't seem to have the intimate hockey knowlege that Dr. Price's crew brought to the game, they have the wealth of vintage game used memorabilia, a fresh take on sprucing up the visual appeal, and are willing to take a lot of opinionated feedback from these forums to improve their product.

From the breaks I've seen so far it looks like redemptions are extremely rare... if Leaf handles the process well and keeps the redemptions to a minimum i don't have a huge issue with it - the strength of the ITG brand has always been the unparalleled vintage memorabilia, as long as I have a shot at some Richard, Orr, Morenz, Shore, etc goodies I'm happy.

#6 - I'm out. I was at the VIP party when they did the announcement, didn't feel right then, doesn't feel right now. Since then I've seen higher prices on their products, lower ROIs for case breakers and now redemptions. It's a shame. I was a relatively new ITG collector and was really starting to appreciate the authentic vintage memorabilia one could get from them. I busted more than a few cases of ITG Used & Lord Stanley's Mug when it came out.

#7 - I have lots of the preLeaf ITG cards in my collection , but yet to be impressed by Leaf , some the cards in the new ITGU look nice , but without rehashing the issues that others have already brought up I am not ready to throw down the coin on wax yet , like I did on the preLeaf ITG
