so this was my first time doing this, mine ranged from 8.5s to 9.5s.. are 8.5s and 9s good? or does it have to be a 9.5 or 10?

For resale, you'd want 9.5 or higher to get a little of a premium

great work rodger, this takes a lot of patient and commitment by you specifically to do all the leg work.
i know you skimmed the cards quick, but maybe try to read of the names as well as the grade so that we know who/what you are talking about (i do realize there's a glare, but if it's a too much to do, that's still fine! i was able to recognize all my cards :) ).

I look forward to the next submission, but is there anyway to bump it back to june?

If I do it any later it will run close to the Nationals and my vacation week

On newer cards I won't send it in if I don't think it's at least a 9.5. If you have something in 60s 70s then of course an 8.5 is good and typically brings a large premium.

well I don't really sell, or at least buy to sell.. I mostly sent in cards that I am keeping for my PC with the exception of my teddy bridgewater auto which got a 9.5 with 10 auto.. I just don't know if I should be proud to display cards with an 8.5.. I'm gonna have to find one of those magnifiers someone mentioned above so I can try to only send in 9.5s

lol. 9.5's are extremely tough to come by. EXTREMELY. This submission had WAY more 9.5's than the previous subs have had. The general rule is a BGS 8 is considered "average". For newer stuff, below a 8 isn't extremely good. Now, there are exception. Thicker patch cards especially as the thicker cards usually get dinged on corners and edges and speaking for myself, I'm just sending in my jumbo patches to get authenticated so for instance my 09 Ultimate Jumbo Patch of Al Kaline only got a 7.5 but I am 100% fine with that as the patch/card is authentic and will sell juts fine if I ever take it out of my PC.

It does seem like there were a lot of 9.5s in this submission, which is a good thing for all of us! I've only sent in to BGS a few times and I'm learning what to look for before sending in cards to get graded. I got 2 9s and 3 9.5s so I'm happy. I had wanted to send in some other cards too but when I looked them over I noticed several flaws so I decided not to. I definitely recommend looking them over for those that don't.
