He, Ladd, Trouba were all big contract concerns coming in to this year, and I don't think the Jets were expected to retain them all. Buff's overall value is probably greater than Ladd's, and I think you are required to keep Trouba. Next stop for the Jets is convincing Trouba to take a bridge deal when he's going to be asking for something bigger more than likely. I don't mind the commitment to Buff though.

Yeah.... speculation for a while is that Ladd is a gonner, but they'd resign Buff. It's a big deal, but he's a big part of the team. They got good (enough) value, I think.

Yes, it is about time! Big Buff is by far the most popular player in Winnipeg, not to mention a major impact player in so many ways. Trouba on the other hand, his offensive IQ is next to nothing, or at least so much less than expected. Excellent defensively but not intimidating so he seems overrated to me. If he won't accept a bridge deal he should be moved imho.

big buff or big bucks, he got paid well! Understandably so though, good for him. Ladd I think would be a nice veteran fit for my Isles. Okposo is gone at years end, we need to keep Frans though

Solid signing, if the Jets didn't resign him they would have to replace him and I can't see that happening.
