    Flames fire Hartley

Hmmm ... a French speaking former coach of the year is now available. Maybe he'd be a good fit for the Habs??? Oh wait, what am I saying ... everyone has complete confidence in and is thrilled with Therrien at the helm.

The most interesting thing, I thought, that came out of the presser was that the management staff believed that Hartley got all he could out of the team. Now, that is something of an indictment as their young dynamic core has the tools to be a pretty good lineup, and they did make the playoffs in 14-15. I think everybody expected the Flames to take a step back this season, but this was a Great Leap Backwards.

On the other hand, their goaltending was abysmal this year. The numbers for Ramo & Hiller are embarrassing, especially for the latter. Carey Price had more wins than Hiller this year, despite playing in only 12 games compared to Hiller's 26. Can't blame him for going back home to the Swiss League.

You can't fire the players, so Hartley becomes the scapegoat for everything this year.

Will they land Boudreau? What will they do about the situation between the pipes?
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

    Jhonas Enroth?

But man, after their season, I'm not really surprised by this. Especially since the coach almost always takes the fall in these kinds of situations.

As for the Goaltending, Enroth could be with the Flames next season. Will he be THE Guy is Calgary? Who knows, but he's UFA with the Kings, Budaj re-signed for a 1 year deal after being named AHL Goaltender of the Year, and Enroth is looking for a shot at more games. And the team in front of him will need to be better as a whole unit.

Also, Joni Ortio was impressive for a few stints later in the year. And Gillies down in Stockton is a young, decent prospect.

    Guess we'll see what happens!
