Wanted to get some variety in here. It looks to be the same drivers over and over...and my collection is Indy 500 based.

Apparently, until you posted, were the only ones interested in showing our cards, I would like to see more variety also but unless someone steps up to post it is what it is.

I will work off the "J" in Dale Jarrett and present to you the Jules Goux 1960 Parkhurst Hawes Wax Indy* #3 card.
*This also may be referred to as Parkhurst Indianapolis Speedway Winners, and/or V338-2.

From Beckett.com:
"Although often considered to be one of the first American auto racing card sets, the 50-card Hawes Wax issue was printed by Parkhurst in Canada for distribution in Hawes Wax products. This set features 39 cards portraying Indy 500 race winners from 1911-1959; 11 cards featuring race action scenes, and one card featuring the Purdue University Marching Band. Cardbacks are printed in both English and French. It's interesting to note that card #50 lists the winners of the Parkhurst Zip Gum Hockey Contest originally offered on the backs of 1958-59 Parkhurst hockey cards. Oversized versions (approximately 3" by 4") of six cards exist featuring the fronts of 12 Hawes Wax cards (#9/26/29/31/33/35/37/38/39/40/43/44) placed back-to-back. Reportedly, the six cards were part of a game produced in Canada that also included additional cards of non-racing subjects. These six cards are valued at approximately $20.00 each."
Goux won the third running of the Indianapolis 500 in 1913, become the first European to win. There is a myth about him and the race, that to my recollection has never been (or at this point can be) confirmed or denied.
From Wikipedia (always there, sometimes accurate):
"Jules Goux won the 1912 Sarthe Cup at Le Mans driving a Peugeot, and in 1913 he travelled with the team to the United States to compete in the Indianapolis 500 race. Goux won the race, becoming the first French person to ever do so. Goux reportedly consumed four bottles of champagne while driving in the Indy 500 (then known as the International 500-Mile Sweepstakes Race) and was later quoted as saying, 'Without the good wine, I would have not been able to win.'"

In this article, there is a quote from Indianapolis Motor Speedway Historian Donald Davidson. I believe there never has been or will be another that will know the history of the race like him, so I take his word as gospel.
