I know next to nothing about NASCAR ... but ... I'd love to know what is, and see a pic of, the card that is generally considered to be the most valuable NASCAR card in existence.

honestly dont know the answer to this one-since the cards have really only been around since 1988 in somewhat mass production there really isnt a holy grail card like the other sports have.

    Most valuable NASCAR card?

I can't speak on the 1988 and later cards (though 15 years ago I could have), especially with autographs, parallels and all that. I do feel at one time that some variations of the first Maxx set were worth a couple hundred bucks (one of the Earnhardt cards?). Also, the 1989 Winner's Circle set has a few short prints. Finding them in good shape can cost into the triple digits. The card I want from the set (Paul Goldsmith) is unfortunately one of those short prints, so I haven't acquired a copy yet. This is the one copy available currently on feeBay.

I consider the STP Fred Lorenzen cards the "Holy Grail" equivalent to the T206 Honus Wagner (baseball) or the Mayo Anonymous/John Dunlop (football) card. I am also on the Net 54 boards and a racing collector that has been searching for it for years (I think around 20, without checking) recently acquired his copy. The story behind it is fantastic. I'm not going to copy and paste his posts here, but there are in this thread if you want to read about it.

    How 'bout that...I don't have to wait 24 hours...WOOHOO!

I will take the "L" from "Logano" and post this card of mine - 1954 Start & Wetzel Indy 500 Winners #1926 Frank Lockhart.

    From Beckett.com:

"Stark and Wetzel Meats produced and distributed these cards in 1954. The issue features past winners of the Indy 500 and their cars. Since the cards were distributed in packages of meat products, they were produced with a wax covering that is often found stained making Near Mint copies especially tough to find. The cards are blankbacked and have lightly perforated edges. The cards are unnumbered and listed below in order of winning year."

    Enjoy!
