    Mini Helmets TTM questions

    Hello,

I have never attempted mini helmets TTM. Always been a card sender.

I just now started my heisman mini helmet project. I'm going to attempt to get as many winners on their respective school's mini helmet.

I mailed to Steve Owens and Johnny Lujack. The lady at the post office said: "In order to receive this back, they would have to take it to the post office themselves instead of dropping in the mail."

    1) Has anyone had any issues receiving their mini helmets back because of this?

    2) Does anyone experience any autographs smudges when you received your mini helmets back? I just sent in bubble wrap protected envelopes.

    Any responses are appreciated.

    Hey man,

I've been sending minis out for a while.I send mine in a 6x6x6 box.In order to do that,I take the facemask off.Ive found, the smaller the box,the better.I do tuck bubble wrap inside the box to keep the helmet secure.I've only had 3-4 helmets never come back.Whether I had the wrong address or they just didn't care to sign anything,I don't know.Thats out of 70+ helmets sent.I have had a couple silver marker smudges on a few.Your best bet if you're sending a dark helmet that requires silver or gold, just go ahead and send the full helmet, with packaging.Just have to get the next size up box.As far as what I include...it's normally lor, marker, return label and postage. Some just include enough $ to pay for postage,I go ahead and include stamps.Make it as easy as possible for them to just sign it and send it back off. They just send it back in same box.If you are sending a donation, write something to the effect of "Donation Enclosed",visibly on the outside of box.Its always worked pretty well for me,man. If you got any questions about who signs helmets or anything about else, just PM me.Good Luck!

Ive sent a few, and make my own boxes. Smaller (just barely) one on the inside, all labled, postage applied, and ready to go! As stated above, the easier for them, the better imo. Good luck!!!!!!

    Thanks Derrick!

This round I bought a bunch of bubble wrapped envelopes and went ahead and paid for postage to send back at the office. Pretty need that you can track when you might get your helmet back!
I just now got my first helmet back from 69 Heisman winner Steve Owens. I was really worried about smudges in the envelope. It looks great!

My next round I may copy your box idea instead of sending in a big envelope.

    Thanks again!

    Devin
