96-97 Pinnacle Mint 24 pack box

Picked up 5 boxes of this retro product with my last Steel City Collectibles order for some fun. Each pack has a base card (or parallel), Coin Card (to put coins in), and a coin. These are the two items of note which are available FS/FT:

    Shanahan Silver Base (1:23 packs)

    and:

    Coffey Nickel-Silver Coins (1:30 packs)

Fun break with 4 more boxes to come over the next four weeks.

If anyone needs anything for this old set please let me know. I pulled 5 Lemieux brass coins from the first box :)

    Thanks for the view!

There were the Nickel/Silver coins, but there were also Fine Silver coins - those are impossible to track down. I'm not sure how many of those were produced; maybe they were 1/1s?

Either way, fun looking break. I love seeing people busting the stuff from 15-20 years ago when the hobby was still young; before eBay even and these rare cards were even more spectacular because you just didn't see them!

EDIT: turns out that the Fine Silver were 1:5890 packs. Nearly 1 in every 250 boxes! Not sure how many boxes of this were produced, but that definitely makes them a rare find indeed.

The 24 karat god coins are even tougher and I believe they are redemptions so I would be out of luck. Odds are as follows:

    Silver Team Card: 1:23 packs
    Gold Team Card: 1:72 packs
    Nickel-Silver Coins: 1:30 packs
    Gold Plated Coins: 1:72 packs
    Fine Silver Coins: 1:5077 packs
    24kt gold: 1:51641 packs

I believe the 24kt Gold coins are 1/1 so yes... definitely tougher. :)

But those numbers make me think that means there must be 10-11 of the Fine Silver. Interesting, as I've never seen one, and it's the only thing I'm missing for that season for my Osgood collection.
