Mail day from upper deck. A Malkin patch?

I just got this in from upper deck. At first sight I was impressed with the patch. But, once I looked at it closer, I am not sure what to think. With all the detail there is not a single stitch or a break between colors. It's a single flat piece of material, with what I will call art work (design). When you look at the black in the middle there are two shades of black used for a shadowing effect. Any info on this would be appreciated. Because for the life of me, I can't think of any uniform this came from.

I thought about that. But not from the chest logo. Maybe a shoulder patch?

Would you happen to know what part of the jersey? Because, I have seen all jerseys but the one they wore in Chicago.

Maybe on one of the shoulder patches they wore? Could be made up of a different texture of material. If you find anymore info please post it here if you can, I would also like to know more. Good luck finding some more information :) Great card!

I thought I read somewhere that those kind of patches used in the outdoor games are supposed to look all crazy on the 3D tv....? Maybe it was a dream...

I will admit it is an odd patch. Never seen anything like it before.

Checking out the jersey used in the stadium series game against the Blackhawks, I find that this is from the chest logo of that jersey. Watching the game I find that the logo is flat and shiny. Also looking at jerseys on ebay, you can see the artsy detail and shadowing. I am kind of torn with this piece. It is unique, but not having the stitching is a little disappointing.
