Opinion on E packs?
First off, I am not 100% sure of how these work but any idea of preventing the collector to actually leave their computer and goto their LCS to have a hobby experience and purchase their cards and wax to me is a really bad idea. How do you even get these e packs anyway?

You get them by going on the website:
https://www.upperdeckepack.com/
Opening an account, and can take the free daily pack (3 base cards) or buy packs, boxes, cases, whatever.
Not all products are available through this program.
I have no problem with it. I have spent a few dollars on the site, to try it out, but not much. I have not spent a single dollar less @ my LCS because of the program (I've spent less this year @ my LCS because I don't think the products are very good, for what they cost, but that's another topic).

So essentially it is just another place to for collectors to spend their money online? How is this different from buying wax from any other online store? Do they offer promos and does it include cards from every UD product? Idk this just seems like another gimmick for collectors to spend their money and I don't really see this lasting. Ya, products this year are terrible and I have only tried a couple of boxes of ice(terrible product), showcase(even worse) and one spx box. The odd thing about products this year so far is that they look good on paper and design but they just don't deliver in terms of content.

The main gimmick that does seem to be gaining a following is the chance to build parallels such as the foils for upper deck's main set and the greens for the MVP. Also there are special cards you get for completing sets/subsets that are not available in wax.

ahhh so it's for everyone. the kids to build the sets and the big boys to get these bonus cards and to chase the big money nudes. maybe it's not as bad as i thought then?

I like the epacks. For those who don't have a lcs or don't want base cards, or just want the parallels and the epack exclusive cards it's very good. Or those like me who are not in the us or Canada it's very good, I can't buy current upper deck product as I'm in the uk, so I can buy current product for not ridiculous amounts of money.

Nicely written article but I still do not fully agree with this entire notion of epacks being a new way to collect cards. Everyone has access to the internet and there are sites such as breakers.tv where you can buy wax and numerous forums such as scf you can trade/sell/buy cards. i just don't understand how epacks are anything special.

Am I right in thinking that you cannot get physical MVP rookies from ePacks?
Looking at the epack website they do not list the MVP Rookies as "transferable". That tells me the only way to get MVP rookies is from real packs.Hidden Content

You can pull rookies from the epacks but you can't have them shipped to you or COMC, they are stuck on the epack site. You can combine 20 of them for a green parallel rookie though and that you can have shipped.
