It could turn out to be very bad; however, a part of me understands why it was Hall. There were to many nights where the effort just wasn't what was expected.

This is actually a nice move by Edmonton. Trade Hall and pick up a legit 23 year old d man that has 5 more years on his current contract. They save just under $2 mil a year on Larsson and now they can go and sign Lucic. Lucic would give them the big nasty winger they need and Larsson helps them out at D.

He was the teams leading scorer for what, three out of the past four years? And one of the best LW in the game who's name isn't Alex Ovechkin? And one of the only top prospects who apparently wasn't ruined by the Oilers system? Edmonton should have gotten a pick or two back in the deal AT LEAST.

The biggest loser in this deal......Conner McDavid - how many years until he can become a FA?

Despite what he says, his facial reaction when Edmonton won the lottery last year said it all - just a classy kid.

Despite their bogus lottery wins, Edmonton still has the worst owner in the league and the worst management. Changing names and titles is just like re-arranging deck chairs on the titanic - same result.

In reality, this is really just a salary dump. Edmonton trades a legitimate scorer, for a third-pair defenseman who "could" someday develop into a second-pair defenseman? In the process, they keep Eberle who's still afraid of his shadow and Nugent-Hopkins whom nobody will take at $6-million/yr - unless it's a give-away deal.

Even "if" they add Lucic, does anyone really think that Lucic and Larsen will make them a playoff team?

If their GM is such a genius, why did he get fired in Boston?
