Again,if you love hockey, goaltending and the goods associated with each, don'thesitate to "LIKE" Bruce C. Goaltending Museum.

Sohere is the next addition to the museum. Born on May 4, 1980 in Belleville,Ontario, Andrew Raycroft was the 135th overall pick of the Boston Bruins in1998. After completing his OHL career with Kingston in 1999-00, Raycrofttransitioned to the professional leagues as the Providence Bruins' startinggoaltender in 2000-01. He did, however, challenge the Bruins' major league goaltendersfor minutes. He made his NHL debut on October 7, 2000 against Philadelphia, inrelief of Byron Dafoe, and he stopped all four shots he faced in the team's 5-1defeat. That year, he appeared in 15 games, recording a 4-6-0 record. The nextseason he appeared in a single game for the Bruins, and then the yearafterwards, he recorded five more games. In 2003-04, Raycroft became thefull-time starter for the Bruins, recording an impressive 29-18-9 record withthree shutouts, two assists, a 2.05GAA, and a 0.926% save average. Thatperformance earned him the Calder Memorial Trophy as the Rookie of the Year. In2005-06, his numbers sunk to sub NHL levels, and he was then acquired by Torontoin exchange for a draft pick which turned out to be Tuukka Rask. In his firstseason in Toronto, Raycroft appeared in 72 games recording a winning record. The following season, he was limited to 19 games. The Avalanche took a chanceon him in 2008-09, and there, he made 31 appearances before being acquired bythe Canucks in 2009-10, once again in a backup role. In 2010-11, he was signedby the Dallas Stars and he spent two years there as the team's back-upgoaltender. After the conclusion of the 2011-12 season, Raycroft spent twoyears in Europe before retiring from professional play.

Inhis career, Andrew Raycroft appeared in 280 games, recording a 113-114-10-17record with nine shutouts, three assists, a 2.89GAA, and a 0.900% save average. In eight playoff games, he recorded a 3-4 record with one shutout, a 2.16GAA,and a 0.922% save average.

Thepiece you are looking at right now is a 2010-11 Black Set 2 sweater worn byAndrew Raycroft. Wear is light on it and consists of a black mark on the centerlogo, as well as a stick mark on the right sleeve, an unrepaired hole on theright sleeve, and heavy piling on the right shoulder stars logo.

Congrats on the Raycroft jersey, Bruce!

Funny personal story: I know Raycroft's dad but have never once brought up discussion about Andrew because I like the Leafs and that trade was just awful! Last I heard, after playing in Europe and retiring, Andrew moved back to Massachusetts. Not sure what kind of work he is doing now.
