New Member Intro

Hello,

This is a great forum you've developed! My collecting life can be categorized in 3 periods. First was my youth collecting baseball, football, and hockey ('73-'79), Second was the hobby surge w/co-workers ('90-'95), and then rekindling with my two young teen sons ('13-present). We collect football with focus on our hometown Patriots (we live in Foxboro--take the "cheat" commentary somewhere else). In the last year we've bought a lot of boxes at a nearby monthly card show because they love ripping packs (who doesn't?). This has netted poor value results--we rarely hit on a good insert--and they end up disappointed. Of course, like Charlie Brown attempting to kick the ball Lucy's holding, we continue to buy hoping to finally hit a great one. We've accumulated some decent inserts/RC's that I thought may be more valuable to someone in another geographical region. Ideally, I'd like them to trade value for value to experience that aspect of the hobby that isn't prevalent in our area (we seem to only buy and no one seems to want to trade or buy a Jaguars card).

Our first couple of posts will be proposing trades of some of the cards we hope to acquire Patriots insert & RCs (present roster of most interest). I can send and receive emails and PMs during the work day, so I plan to respond in a timely manner.

Also, growing up in the Bruins heyday of the 70's-80's I had a quest to collect all of the player cards going back to the 50's. I have a personal collection of Bruins that are NM-MT, including Orrs, Espos, Bucyks that I should get graded. I have some 70's and 80's non-Bruins that I'll probably post on the hockey forum that I'm not attached to as much.

Welcome to SCF! I'm sure if you try posting in the football section you will be able to get some trades done for Patriots cards. I will go through and see what I have for you. Enjoy!
