Testing the waters: BGS 6 Marcel Dionne RC

    Hi folks,

I've had this card in my 'traders' album for a while.

I love the card because the player is in the hall of fame and it will probably be the highest grade for this card that I would ever afford to acquire (at least right now).

However, I am torn; with all that I have stated above, this card does not fit my collecting criteria. I collect BGS 9.5 rookies (OPC rookies from the 1980s, rookies from the 1990s, and SP Authentic rookies).

I have decided to test the waters for this one. Would you guys/gals move this card if you were me?

I'm sure my card could fetch a BGS 9.5 rookie card or two?

    I hope!

    Tony

Thanks so much for the input. It is probably the best possible graded copy of this card that I will ever be able to afford.

I love the card. The only reason I'm testing the waters is to see what I might get. No guarantee that I'll move it.

Keep it. That is a popular set and will only increase in value. No way I would trade it for one of today's rookies.

My question is, how much value can it possibly gain? It may be a graded vintage card but these days it seems like most cards are worthless unless they are graded mint or better, have a crazy patch, or extremely short-printed.

This was one thing I was wondering...what type of value does this card hold in this condition?

I don't think this card will increase in value much. As you said, near-mint or better get premium value. Dionne was a really good player but doesn't get much hobby love. Probably a 75$ card.
I collect game used and autographed cards of Beliveau, Lafleur and Maurice Richard. Can consider other nice Habs cards too.

"Really good?" He's in the hall of fame! He's more than really good LOL. Now, there have been questionable additions (2002 was HORRID...Rod Langway, Bernie Federko, and Clark Gillies?? Three joke selections right there). There are others but that year stunk, to say the least
