UD won't touch this. McDavid and McDavid alone with be driving this product. And to be clear, it will work. No need for UD spending the extra cash to aquire Eichel autos. Just doesn't make sense from a business point of view.
Good idea for collectors though IMO. Gives them a chance at some sweet auto'd cards!Jhonas Enroth Card Collector & Host of the Hidden Content

All about $$$$ More money for Leaf. Season is over everyone will be chasing 16-17 rookies. Who cares if Eichel has some UD signed cards. Eichel is no longer driving Leaf products if he ever was.
Leaf gains $$$$ they lose nothing. Good business for themFlickr: Hidden Content

^^^^^^
Even if he had been in UD products, he would have done next to nothing to move the needle on their sales anyway.
I'm still firmly in the camp that believes all the talk of "two generational talents" was nothing more than sports writers compensating for the fact that writing about a consensus #1 pick is boring. There's been other years in the past (talk that Tavares might not go #1, for example) where additional hype was added to other top name(s) to make the #1 pick more of a discussion.
Of course that translates into hype in the hobby. While I have no reason to believe that Eichel won't ultimatley be the 2nd best player to have debuted in 2015-16 - I also believe that the drop from #1 to #2 is MUCH bigger than the drop from #2 to #3. Eichel's ability to drive sales is only slightly more than Larkin's, and neither come close to McDavid.
