1/1 Sketch Card

Anyone ever gotten an original sketch card? Any value behind them if you were to get it signed by the player in the sketch?

I'm sure it would add a little value, and it would depend on who you sell it to. If you find a player collector of said player, I'm sure you could get some sort of 'premium' for the card to add it to their collection. But it can depend on a few factors. (who the player is, if it's an officially released card, condition, etc).

I think the quality of the art is more important. I don't put much value on in-person autographs (unless I got them for my personal collection)... so the majority of the value comes from the art piece.

That said, it would be interesting!

My LCS has the official sketch artist for Topps and Upper Deck coming in next week and he doesn't do "cards" at the event but 3x5 and 8x10

I would think that you would have to get the autograph verified in order to attach a real premium to an auto.

While an official artist from Topps and UD may be better than some joe off the street it isn't like in 10 years anybody is going to remember who he was. An autograph by the player though should always add value.
