    What i just left on topps facebook page.

    Sorry, but had to vent regarding Topps and fear that they will pull the post so they can look good. But after almost 4 years of waiting and countless lies from their customer service, I just wanted to make sure I have other collectors input if possible.

    TO TOPPS MANAGEMENT STAFF AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. I AM APPALLED AT YOUR REDEMPTION PROCESS. I WILL EXPLAIN AS BEST AS I CAN, BUT DOUBT IT WILL DO ANY GOOD AT ALL. I HAVE HAD 2 REDEMPTION CARDS IN FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS NOW AND THEY ARE NOT THE HIGHEST VALUED CARDS, BUT NEVERTHELESS THESE ARE CARDS THAT WERE TAGGED TO BE SUBSTITUTED YEARS AGO AND STILL HAS NOT HAPPENED. I HAVE DONE ALL I COULD ON MY END, BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP HAS FAILED YET AGAIN. I PLACED MULTIPLE CALLS AND KEEP GETTING EXCUSES AS TO WHY THESE ARE NOT DONE AND THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS. GUESS WHAT? NOPE, NOTHING HAS HAPPENED STILL. THESE CARDS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHIPPED BY NOW. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW JUST YESTERDAY WHEN I SPOKE WITH A SERVICE REP, I ASKED SPECIFICALLY TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER AND WAS TOLD, SORRY, NOBODY IS AVAILABLE TO TALK TO YOU. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? WHY DOES A SMALL TIME CUSTOMER SUCH AS MYSELF GET TREATED SO POORLY? MY CARDS ARE NOT FOR A TOM BRADY OR MICHAEL JORDAN AUTOGRAPH, SO IT ISN'T THAT YOU ARE WAITING ON THEIR SIGNATURES AND SINCE I OPTED FOR REPLACEMENTS, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE PROMPTLY. I WAS GIVEN ONE OPTION THAT I EXPLAINED TO THE SERVICE REP THAT THE VALUE OF THE CARD FINALLY OFFERED WAS WELL BELOW MARKET VALUE. BACK IN 2001, I PULLED A TOPPS GOLD LABEL REDEMPTION FOR AN UNCUT SHEET AUTOGRAPHED BY MARSHALL FAULK, BUT THE REDEMPTION HAD EXPIRED BY ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND YOUR COMPANY REFUSED TO HONOR EVEN THIS. NOW, HERE I AM WAITING ON VALID REDEMPTIONS FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS AND NOT ONE THING HAS BEEN DONE AT ALL. IT IS SICKENING THAT I GET TREATED LIKE THIS FROM A TRADING CARD COMPANY. I HAVE CONTINUED TO BUY TOPPS PRODUCT BECAUSE I LOVE THE CARDS, BUT HATE YOUR REDEMPTION PROCESS AND YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WOULD HATE TO HAVE FINALLY BUY A HIGH END BOX AND PULL A REDEMPTION FOR A CARD I MAY NEVER SEE. HOW CAN THIS BE EVEN POSSIBLE? WHAT IF CUSTOMERS STOPPED BUYING YOUR PRODUCT? WOULD THAT MAKE REDEMTIONS BE REDEEMED EVEN FASTER FOR PEOPLE SUCH AS MYSELF THAT HAVE WAITED FOR YEARS OR WOULD THERE BE YET ANOTHER EXCUSE? I AM POSTING THIS IN HOPES OF GETTING A REAL RESPONSE, BUT DON'T COUNT ON IT. MY GUESS IS THAT SOMEONE WILL DELETE THIS POST SO I AM MAKING A COPY AND POSTING ON A CARD TRADING SITE AND WILL LISTEN TO THEIR STORIES OF THE POOR PERFORMANCE. YOUR COMPANY IS ACTING LIKE I WANT SOMETHING FOR FREE OR EXCESSIVELY OVER VALUED. HECK, IF I THINK ABOUT IT, FOR MY HASSLE AND THE LINES GIVEN TO ME, YOU SHOULD OWE ME A CASE OF 5 STAR FOR ALL OF TROUBLE FOR YEARS!

    Sounds like my experience with Panini, over several redemption cards I both pulled and bought individually.

    I know the hobby has come to accept redemptions are part of how it is, but I find it unacceptable, and can find other ways to spend my money.

    No other business acts like this. Inserts a "promise" of a product, and then often fails to deliver that product.

    Gambling is supposed to have chance involved. The possibility of wining. Cards are no different.

    But when you gamble at a casino, and win, your not just given a promise of future payment, IF someone else comes thru. The casino pays you and moves on. They don't claim that the driver with the money isn't here, and to come back tomorrow.

    Card companies essentially tell you the driver (in this case the player), has not shown (signed), and therefore you can take Pesos instead, or continue to wait.

    Or;

    If you drove up to a McDonalds, ordered a Big Mac, and got a box with a note saying come back tomorrow, we are out of beef, but no refund (because you opened the box), how long do you think they would last?

    I doubt as long as these card companies have doing business that exact same way.

    I plan to NEVER EVER EVER buy or trade for a "redemption" card again after my nightmare experience with the Jameis NT shield holy grail ... craziest experience of my card collecting life :-(

    It is unreal as they never allowed the post, much less responded to me either by messenger or email. I would be really going insane if it were that card!

    The McDonalds statement hits right as how they are!

    Here is my topps pity redemption story, it was a basketball card but still painful. I pulled from stadium club 07/08 a san Antonio spurs super team card numbered 27/50 if that team won the title you were supposed to get an xfractor set of 50 rookies numbered to only 50, yes the spurs won but my redemption was unfortunately expired by only 2 months. I thought topps would work with me but they said no dice, would've been nice having that set as it has a book value over 2,000 dollars. I still have the super team card in tact and in a top loader and every once in awhile while going thru cards I come across it and wince.
    Do something nice for someone everyday, it will pay off in the long run.
