Really glad to be here
Hello, my name is Phillip, but I am known just about everywhere on the 'net as paw75. I have been collecting cards mainly baseball since 1982. Needless to say, a lot of my older cards didn't survive the wrath of my mother. I know for a fact she burned in the mid 80s two 50 gallon garbage bags full of pre-1986 cards, but I forgive her. That's probably karma catching up with me. I do have some cards that did survive. At the age of 15, I was setting my own tables up a card shows around the Chattanooga Area and I even had a little hobby shop that I started in the back of my mother's hair salon. I never made a lot of money doing it. I basically done it for the love of collecting and to support my card collecting addiction. Around 1995, the year I went off to Georgia Southern, I basically stopped collecting and just put everything in storage. Fantasy Baseball took care of my baseball fix. Three years ago I finally got into a pay to play keeper league. It a rather cool league. We have a minors and majors. And if anyone might be interested in playing this year, I do believe there is a team for sell. Anyhow, I would have spurt of collecting here and there until recently. One of my minor league draft picks in the keeper league was Homer Bailey. Well, this past summer Homer played for the Chattanooga Lookouts. One night while out watching my cousin's band (The Tennessee Rounders), low and behold I was sitting right next to Homer Bailey. He is really into Outlaw/Honkytonk music and a cool guy to boot. Homer left my cousin and I tickets for the next time he pitched. We had a great time. Some batter stepped out on Homer in the middle of his wind up. The batter was ear holed on the next pitch and both benches warned. Next have inning, Homer get his at bat and it seemed that the pitcher was trying to "Hit the Bull". He was tossed. The Lookouts couldn't pull out the win for Homer that night but he done his part, 1 run on 3 or so hits. He came out to the show after the game and listen to music with us. It was a good time had by all. After meeting thsi guy, I had to get some of his cards, so I got on ebay one day and the next thing I know I'm back collecting and spending money that I don't have.
that is about it...hope I didn't bore ya'll.
