    This list is pretty darn good. But if you don't know how to use Hijackthis you need to contact their help support. Remove the wrong thing and you will need to do a system restore to go back before you ran hijackthis. I worked for Geek Squad for 3 years now work IT for a local school district.

    BTW if you ever see an email saying you have a greeting do not open it. Trust me on this I know what I am talking about.

    Another good free Anti Virus is Avira Antivir, I use that along with Comodo Firewall

    The thing I don't like about Avira is that it expires after one year.

    Avast is probably the best free anti-virus, AVG has sooo many false positives.

    But honestly, on all my windows OS computers I just use NOD32 and Malwarebytes registered, I Never get viruses no matter what.

    just got a new laptop.would it be okay to have just the lavasoft program on my computer?or do i need more?had it a couple weeks with just lavasoft and no problems

    I use a combo of avg, adaware, and spybot.

    ok now thAT IVE DOWNLOADED THE AVG ,I AM GETTING THIS MESSAGE EVERYTIME I LOG INTO MY YAHOO MAIL TO CHECK MY MESSAGES:
    DANGER:AVG SEARCH SHIELD HAS DETECTED ACTIVE THREATS ON THIS PAGE AND HAS BLOCKED ACCESS FOR YOUR PROTECTION......ETC.....ETC...

    THIS MESSAGE IS ONLY SHOWING WHERE ADVERTISMENTS ARE. IS THIS NORMALLY GOING TO HAPPEN FOR NOW ON WHERE THOSE ADVERTISMENTS ARE?

    THATS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE...

    I EVEN CHANGED MY EMAIL ADDRESS BECAUSE I THOUGHT ID CATCH A VIRUS FROM MY OLD EMAIL ADDRESS,LOL.....

    the ads probably had malicious script in them so avg is protecting you form it, don't worry.
