Should subjective events be removed from the Olympics?

I've enjoyed the Olympics so far, but it seems that the US wins all of the objective events (Basketball, track and field, women's softball, volleyball, swimming, rowing, etc) and teams like China win all of the subjective events where judges can be biased (synchronized swimming, diving, gymnastics, etc).

Now I hear the Olympic committee is getting rid of women's softball and I can't feel they are doing this because the US wins it every 4 years.

I enjoy the Olympics, but despise the subjective part of it because it there is too much room for corruption and bias.

    Anyone else feel this way?

Agree totally, synchronized diving?! are you kidding me?, whats next synchronized pole dancing?. Shouldn't worry too much though, once the U.S. starts winning those events they will be dropped too.

I also despise the biased judging, but the athletes put in so much training for events like gymnastics, and I still enjoy watching it for athleticism's sake even if the judging sucks..so, I'd have to say keep them around, but find ways to try and improve the quality of the judging (Bela Karolyi suggested certain qualifications for the judges..we're getting some from countries that have very little presence in gymnastics training or understanding - these people plainly are not experts, so they shouldn't be given the judging credentials they have).

Khendra, I agree, but is it better to have athletes train for 5 years then not get a medal due to biased judging?

Most of the bad judging has given lower medals, but not no medals at all. I think they'd rather have some medal even with bad judging than none at all.

I dislike it alot. Too many times there are close calls and everyone is thinking one team or another will win then the bomb. Someone else gets the gold because some Judge from peeonaly (made up country)gives them ridiculous scores!

It's absolutely insane....the judging flat-out stinks in certain events.....but, I would be disappointed to see certain sports removed due to domination by certain countries....it'd be like if the Pats were removed from the NFL, or Jordan removed from basketball, or Gretzky from hockey.....not right!

I love the fact that a Chinese girl can win a medal after falling on her knees, what in the blue balls of Hades.

That was the dumbest thing I've ever seen in the Olympics.
