$79 billion Spent on Climate Change Studies

Extremely interesting article. Has it been worth the $79 billion to study climate change?

The US Government has spent more than $79 billion of taxpayers’ money since 1989 on policies related to climate change, including science and technology research, administration, propaganda campaigns, foreign aid, and tax breaks.

And if you don't think it is about the money ...

Carbon trading worldwide reached $126 billion in 2008. Banks, which profit most, are calling for more. Experts are predicting the carbon market will reach $2 - $10 trillion in the near future. Hot air will soon be the largest single commodity traded on global exchanges.\

And the meat of it all ...

By pouring so much money into pushing a single, scientifically-baseless agenda, the Government has created not an unbiased investigation but a self-fulfilling prophecy.

And we are about to spent another trillion or so (give or take $100 billion) and pass cap and trade legislation.

The government is spending too much money on stupid stuff. There are some better programs to be spending the money that can make the difference in the nation and in the economy. Why do we have to spend money on stuff that does not contribute in any way at all. I will start by closing down NASA. There is a good chunk of money spend on this program. The results are not that great and I think we are still the only country worrying about going to the Moon and Mars all the time
