They have casinos. a license to print money. They probably pull in millions per week of U.S. dollars. isnt this the direct opposite of stimulus for the US economy?

Too be honest I'm not concerned w/ what the gov't provides to Native Americans since the American Gov't. is responsible for destroying their culture, killing their people, and stealing their land. What the U.S. and Coloniol goverments did to Native Americans was atrocious and consisted of some of the most reprehensible acts against a group of people.

right, but we are talking about stimulus money. I dont recall hearing that we had to hurry up and pass this 878 Billion dollar "stimulus" plan to pay reparations to Native Americans.

But its not their money, its our money that the gov't has stupidly given to a group that squanders and misuses what they allready have (i.e. casino funds), let them better learn to manage what they have.

Not really, you're basically using guilt-ridden cultural reasons to justify things. Being OK with providing them whatever only compounds the problems of the situation of Native Americans.

However, at the same time, the way we have handled their people has been like sweeping them under the rug. We perpetuate their situation with what we provide, so to say you're OK with what we provide them is being OK with the dysfunction of it all. But that doesn't mean Native Americans aren't at fault for being careless - but neither are we for creating the situations which facilitate carelessness.

Based on your argument, you would have an easy time supporting Affirmative Action [for blacks] as well. We killed blacks, we manipulated their culture, we denied them human rights. Or are you that inconsistent and selective?

I don't think you can compare the treatment of African Americans and Native Americans. Native Americans suffered far worse treatment at the hands of the gov't and U.S. citizens. The U.S. gov't is responsible and the source of their problems. I believe the country owes them b/c of this.

Kinda off topic, but what does that say about the democratic party? Do they really care so much about "oppressed Minorities" or just the ones they can manipulate into voting for their liberal agenda?
