8x10 Autographs: Best Bargain in Collecting?
Collecting signed photos might be the fastest, cheapest way to build a nice collection.
Promoters will have players sign dozens of 8x10 autographs at a signing session because it’s the easiest item to sign and they can be quickly sold. If the dealer overestimates demand, the signed photos often wind up on eBay, fully authenticated and ready for purchase. Their loss is your gain.

Very good article. 8x10 autos can be great deals. As with any memorabilia you just have to be careful of the source and make sure it is authentic.

with scanners, and a good printer or access to a Walgreens, it is a very cheap way to get into collecting. I still have a softspot for baseballs though, I think having shelves full of auto balls look awesome! Not t say that I dont have photos on the wall as well.

Definitely a good way to start, you can pick up the frames cheap as well.
Even with a decent COA, you're still able to get them in the $10-$15 range.

Not trying to be difficult, but do you guys see 8.5 x 11 becoming more popular as people print more photos at home? I know that doing TTM and IP that I make plenty of photos of that size to be signed. I also have had a fair amount of that size sent from atheletes when I requested photos?

Yeah, most I've gotten are that way. Then I have to trim them down myself (then it looks like crap)to fit in the frames I've already bought for it.
