When is no response considered a FAILURE?

    Just curious...

When is a failure a failure?

whenever you give up hope, or when you see tons of successes sent well after you sent, imo

Never. Not long ago former Phillies pitcher Don Carman moved and brought with him to the new house a ton of mail. He forgot where he put the boxes of TTM requests until years later when he was cleaning out a part of his house. He added extra postage where needed and sent back all those requests.

Doug Glanville recently caught up on his mail...some of it 7 years old. There was a news story about him sending out all the old requests. He even apologized for taking so long.

You never know what happens with your letter. IT could be misplaced in the athlete's home or stuffed into the back of his locker. It might be the one piece he chooses not to open out of every ten. The fact is you never know and you can't give up hope. Many members have gone over a year to two years without getting anything back, myself included. Then one day, there is an old envelope with an old stamp on it.
I collect NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Rangers, NY Knicks, and NJ Nets. I am willing to trade. PM me if you have any cards signed by players from these teams.

Working on collecting all living New York Giants (football) and New York Yankees. The question is which team drives me nuts first!!!

If I see a decent number of successes sent after I did I will send again.

My longest wait was 3.5 years. I have a few friends who have had a success after 5 and 7 years.

Never say die! There can be many reasons why you never get your TTM back. For example the pic I sent to Brooks Bollinger was lost in the mail and he did not get it until months later after I had sent it. I sent Peyton Manning a dontation with my card months ago and I'm still waiting even after others sent after me and have their cards returned already.

In the end its really up to you when to say a failure is a failure.
