I have this ball signed by 10 rookies from the 2008-09 season(Pics below). It is signed by Brook Lopez, Michael Beasley, Jerryd Bayless, Eric Gordon, Joe Alexander, Russell Westbrook, D.J. Augustin, Kevin Love, O.J. Mayo and Derrick Rose. Wondering if anyone can help me figure out a trade and/or sell value on it. I would like to trade or sell it but I have never dealt in any type of memorablia before and have no clue what I shold expect for it. I dont want to be shooting too high, but I also dont want to lowball myself on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I pulled the redemption below and that is what I got in return.

I can't help you with a price, but that is pretty awesome.

Memorabilia is a funny thing. Bayless' nice smudge may stop it from bringing what it should. If I were you I would have complained to Topps when I got that. It looks like a mini ball, so I'd say $200 would be making out pretty well. I'd expect like 125-150 though.

It's a full size ball. Does that change anything?

Full size ball would make a difference. I'd say $200-50 for a full-size. The really sad thing is that it would probably be worth just as much with just Derrick Rose and none of the other 9 guys on it. The only thing is that that the Bayless signature being smudged really might mess up what somebody is willing to pay. I wouldn't put it up for auction. If I were selling it I'd probably run it for 30 days at 275 or best offer.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

I do have an email into Topps about the smudge. I should probably try calling them.

Got a reply from Topps today...

Thank you for taking the time to write with your question, and please accept our apologies for any difficulties you have encountered with our product.

Topps is only able to issue replacements for current year products. Once a product has reached its one year anniversary it is considered memorabilia, in which case we no longer hold replacements for that product.

Thank you once again for taking the time to write.

.....please accept our apologies for any difficulties you have encountered with our product.

I would bet that Topps had said the exact same thing to hundreds of customers over the years.

I'd send them back another letter and tell them you realize the item can't be replaced, but you expect some sort of compensation for receiving a less than perfect item. We are talking about a huge smudge on a signature, which to me, and I'd hope to them, is far less acceptable than nicked corners or creases in cards out of packs. Tell them you thought you had the redemption of a lifetime and you are really disappointed that what arrived is worth significantly less because of a smudge on a signature right in the middle of the ball.

Basically I would just make this sound like it was such an awful error that they need to do something for you. It really is amazing that they thought that ball was ok to send out.
