It is very cool and very rare. From the 2007 Allen and Ginter set.

The historical value of this card is great. I wish card companies would cut out crap like this. Items like this need to be in a museum and not slapped on a trading card.

I think it's awesome. I mean think about it, how many chances do you get to own a piece of history like that. If I pulled that card I'd have a hard time selling it ...

imagine if in the near future cloning becomes a reality ... you could own your very own George Washington :-)

You know, for a fraction of the price you can buy full-size and complete memorabilia from ebay. For instance, 5 years ago I bought a letter of correspondence signed by Nikita Khrushchev for around $30. I've also bought a Teddy Roosevelt Presidential campaign button for $30 and a Barry Goldwater one for $15. If they were cut up and put into cards they would be going for hundreds. Doesn't make a ton of sense to me but who am I to judge?

Mike, I had to move this to Baseball Card Talk since our Chit Chat is for off topic posts.

Funny thing.... GW Bush tie card: ebay ID 300143383665 (http://cgi.ebay.com/2006-Allen-Ginter-George-W-Bush-Necktie-No-auto_W0QQitemZ300143383665QQihZ020QQcategoryZ20876 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

I think it's a bit more entertaining than trying to piece together a 650 card set where 65% of them you haven't heard of. Even further, I only collect basketball (smaller sets, focus on stars mostly).....except until I opened a few packs of these and decided that the additional cards (I believe it was a pack with Bruce Lee and Ken Jennings in it) made it seem fun again. (Seriously, how often can you say "I REALLY need that Jack the Ripper!") So I've now bought a few boxes and a ton of packs and almost have both complete sets ('06 and '07).

I do see your point of view for sure, but if you look at the original A&G's from the 1880's (http://www.scpauctions.com/scpauctions/LotDetail.cfm?Lot_ID=12399) you'll see boxers, wrestlers, sharpshooters, baseball players, billiard players, sumo wrestlers, etc.

I'm waiting for the one with a chunk of Kennedy's skull.
That would be great if some rogue company were to come along and release a set of cards that were so extremely politically incorrect...

Ideas for inserted memorabilia: OJ Bloody glove, Jon Benet Ramsey dress, Scott Peterson fishing line, Kurt Cobain shotgun pellet... oh the list goes on.

That's such a bad idea that it might be good.... here's some of my ideas:

-Patch card from Charles Manson's prison uniform.
-Pages of John Hinkley Jr's Catcher in the Rye book.
-Labels off of Jeffrey Dahmer's fridge "jars."
-Playbill cards from John Wilkes Booth.

And some not so gruesome...

-A Florida or Ohio chad from the 2004 Presidential Election (Serial numbered to 13,652 in Ohio ha ha ha)
-Tonya Harding boxing glove card.
-Pages from Ton Cruise's personal copy of Dianetics.
-ID Card card of McLovin (limited to 6).
-John Belushi's "College" sweatshirt patch card.
-ORIGINAL Lord of the Rings "Ring" card which contains a tiny shard of the ring from the movie (probably limited to 100-200 because they probably used a few rings throughout the movie).

And don't forget a card with a little clear box in it containing some of that toxic dead-people-dust from the WTC.
