With Oden Out, Durant Looks Like This Season's Top Dog (http://sportscards.about.com/od/basketballcards/tp/nbatoppicks.htm)

https://www.sportscardforum.com/clear.gif (http://sportscards.about.com/od/basketballcards/ig/07-08-Rookie-Exclusives-Autos/index.htm) If you're an NBA fan, you've probably already heard that Greg Oden is out for the season (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3017538) following microfracture surgery. The Blazers might not miss the No. 1 overall pick that much as they are just beginning their rebuilding project, but the world of basketball cards will definitely be missing some of its buzz with the star center on the shelf.
Officials at Topps (http://sportscards.about.com/od/cardmanufacturers/p/toppspro.htm) had to be especially bummed, as the company made a big move earlier this year by signing Oden to an exclusive spokesperson contract. Topps products will still be the only place to find Oden's signature during the 2007-08 season, but I suspect there won't be quite as many people clamoring for it right away.
Topps' loss is Upper Deck's gain, as Kevin Durant, one of its exclusive spokesmen, is poised to take the top spot in the rookie class. Speaking of exclusives, you can see Durant and five other players signing only for Upper Deck in the Rookie Exclusive Autograph card gallery. And check out the updated article on the top 2007-08 NBA rookies to see where everyone lands now that Oden is temporarily out of commission.
