View Full Version : Players with the most and least heart

04-09-2008, 01:19 AM
haven't posted here in a while. my opinion on players that just have straight up passion for the game and they play with heart.

just imo not trying to cause a riot or anything but im interested in discussing or viewing others ideas. i might add a few names as they come to me throughout the week.

got heart:
Charles Barkley :winking0071:
Gary Payton :winking0071:
Kevin Garnett ("i hate to lose")
Iverson (really dont care for his personality but he leaves it all on the court. i respect that)
MJ (cant be considered by many to be the GOAT without having heart)
Rasheed Wallace (gets a lot of techs but i think he just wants to win too bad)
Alonzo Mourning (dude has 1 kidney yet contests every shot like its his last)
Dennis Rodman (weird guy, but i remember how he would jus throw himself all over the court to get one rebound. guys nowadays wont even try hard let alone dive for a ball unless they think it'll help them earn a bigger contract)
Gilbert Arenas. (guy goes from a 2nd round pick to all-nba. shoots 1000 shots a day. breaks his leg then tries to come back so fast he breaks it again. not too smart... but thats heart.)
Vince Carter (Raptors, used to be one of my favorite players. Why Vince?)

no heart:
vince carter (Nets)

I absolutely LOVE watching NBA on TNT Thursday nights with Sir Charles Barkley. The dude says whats on his mind. I love it!! He's the man!

no heart: tyrus thomas, mainly because of his comments last year with the dunk contest and wanting to get money... yeah he apologized for his comments and they came out wrong... but it just left a permanent bad impression of him for me.

04-10-2008, 05:20 AM
yeah ive always thought that 2. especially in his magic days. but after how he played in their series with the mavericks he won me over a little. maybe 10% heart now.

i never heard what tyrus thomas said. can u tell me or do u have a link?

04-10-2008, 06:00 AM
Thomas said something like, he participated in the All-Star dunk contest because it was upfront money.

But, on topic, I would say Kevin Garnett and Chris Paul show the most heart and commitment towards excellence and the W. Least heart would probably go to Stephon Marbury.

Gilbert Arenas. (guy goes from a 2nd round pick to all-nba. shoots 1000 shots a day. breaks his leg then tries to come back so fast he breaks it again. not too smart... but thats heart.)

yeah barkleys one of my favorite players. he's just so straight up on and off the court. i swear i watch nba on tnt just to hear him talk

thanks for the info. never heard that he said that. he shouldve got disqualified jus for saying that

Here's an article about Tyrus Thomas from last year-- http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2756552

I agree about Gilbert Arenas.

04-10-2008, 06:38 PM
Gilbert, KG, AI, CP3, LeBron, Baron Davis.

Tyrus Thomas, Vince Carter, Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford, Stephen Jackson (not so much anymore), Latrell Spreewell.

04-15-2008, 04:12 PM
definately PAYTON! :humble:

04-15-2008, 05:52 PM
Kobe, Duncan, Ginobili, Dirk.

Vince Carter, Tyrus Thomas, entire NY Knicks team (I heard they havent even practiced any plays over a month)

04-15-2008, 07:04 PM
Most: Kevin Garnett
Least: Ron Artest

04-15-2008, 07:07 PM
ron artest no heart? , no way maybe he`s crazy but u cant say he has no heart on the court.

look how hes playing defense night in and night out.

04-15-2008, 07:32 PM
ok...I can see what your saying....he's a complaim-a-holic though

04-15-2008, 10:09 PM
never heard that about the Knicks but for sure when you watch them play it seems like they just dont care. that happens when u only win 20 games each of the past 3 seasons

serious artest might act like a thug but he leaves it all on the court

04-15-2008, 10:12 PM
Paul, Iverson and KG.

Worst: Kobe

04-15-2008, 11:02 PM
Most Heart: Larry Bird, Manu Ginobili, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson
Least Heart: Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry, Chris Webber- can't believe no one mentioned him yet.

04-16-2008, 12:00 AM
Most-Manu Ginobili, Allen Iverson, Chris Paul, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Baron Davis, Alonzo Mourning

Least-Stephon Marbury, Vince Carter, Darius Miles, Kwame Brown, Smush Parker

That's all I can think of right now.

04-16-2008, 12:10 AM
For me it's Gary Payton, esspecialy his days in Seattle, man people in Seatown love that guy, he was my fav player growing up, he had such a love for the game and you could tell each and every night.

My vote for least is Letrell Spreawell, that guy was only in it for the money

04-16-2008, 01:07 PM
Sprewell....I forgot about him....thanks for refreshing my memory lol Mr. "I can't feed my family on $14 million" what a #*%)@*%& lol

04-16-2008, 01:19 PM
most heart: allen iverson( he plays with the most heart though), kobe bryant, kevin garnett, lebron james, gibert arenas,

no heart: dwayne wade, t-mac, vince carter, stephon marbury and sometimes jermaine o`neal
