I've had a lot of "pull of my life" cards the last 6 months or so. Let's see... The highlight has to be a LeBron Finite Signatures Auto out of UD Finite. Had slabbed a PSA9 sold for $810 on ebay though. I didn't want to but I needed the cash.

Pulled a Tiger Woods SOTT Auto from 01 SP Authentic #/273 Red variation.

Kobe SIGnificance Auto #/100 from 03/04 SP GU.

Cal Ripken Jr. Sig Stars Gold Auto #/99 from the Upper Deck update mini boxes.

Carmelo INKredible #/100 auto from SP Signature

Carmelo Auto'd RC SP Authentic (Pulled that yesterday, but I bought 10 boxes)

Found a "leftover" pack of 99 contenders at the local card shop and picked it up for 2.99 and got a Donovan McNabb, that has to be the nicest card I got for the cheapest! Another guy bought the remaining 02 contenders packs (4 or 5 of them) for 3.99 each and pulled a Vick redemption auto /25. I missed that one...dangit. :D

Out of all the stuff I've purchased lately you'd think I'd hit more, but I've gotten some good stuff. Still trying to hit that Authentic Rookie Stars Tiger Auto from 01 SPA though. I don't want to pay $900 for it, I want to pull one!

03-26-2004, 05:34 PM
I also pulled an Albert Pujols Sweet Sigs redemption (the parallel one with no name on it)

Dwyane Wade Topps Chrome Chromographs Refractor auto 06/25. (I sold this on ebay last week $233)

I also have a Lebron Platinum Finish 97/100 for sale on ebay right now and a Jason Kapono Press Plates Magenta 1/1 (Uncommon) as well. These both end in a few hours though.

--Kapono Press Plate

--Lebron Plat Finish #/100

03-26-2004, 09:49 PM
97-98 Skybox Premium Tim Duncan RC Star Ruby #15/50 pulled it his rc year and still have it was $500 now $300

03-26-2004, 11:12 PM
man after reading soemof the pulls mine is just crap its a

03/04 fleer authentix ticket for four sprewell/curry/wagner/ming #/100 bv 50 cosidering the only (hobby) box i ever bought

03-26-2004, 11:22 PM
Hey Wolf, the idea is the "pull of YOUR life" Compared to some people, the stuff I have pulled is crap. I know quite a few guys who seem to have a horseshoe up their when it comes to opening stuff.

I know one dealer in particular who's dad owns the local distributorship, this kid sits around and opens a ton of everything when it comes out, he's got some great stuff, it's fun to look at for sure and he's got some cool stuff that he just collects. But the stuff I've pulled compared to what he's got...it isn't even close. How about 4 of the 5 nfl logo patch cards for a half dozen different players, or the SP GU "N" "F" "L" letters off the footballs for each player, the MLB logo patch for just about anyone you can imagine. More 1/1 cards than I have commons. :) Ok, maybe that's pushing it a little..

anyway, my point is, it's all what's important to you and what you pulled that put a smile on your face. Sure not everyone pulls a 1/1 Babe Ruth cut card, but hey, not everyone pulls a lebron auto out of finite, or in your case, an authentix ticket for four card either. If that was the pull of your life so far, then that's great! There will be more.

I had a string, of what I consider to be, great luck the last several months. In my previous 5 years, I probably didn't pull 2 hundred dollar cards, I've probably pulled 100 in the last 6 months. Sometimes, you just get on a hot streak and it's fun while it lasts.

03-27-2004, 12:22 AM
yeah i wasn't saying my pull was crap but even if it was a base card was what i pulled and it was the best thing i ever pulled i would still like i like my ticket for four because four jerseys on one card

03-28-2004, 07:18 PM
My best pull was a Jordan/Tiger Woods auto/jersey #7/25 from UD Superstars

03-28-2004, 10:05 PM
I pulled a Joe Montana Autograph #/10 from 1999 Ovation football. It was from a Target variety pack. I sold it on Ebay for $1300 to some guy in Germany. I think I went back and bought 4 or 5 more variety packs before I finally just chalked it up to fabulous luck!

03-28-2004, 10:11 PM
2004 sweet spot classics mickey mantle g/u pants card. Books $150........but i dont even care how much its worth, its just the fact that I pulled it

03-28-2004, 10:16 PM
Wow! Those are some great pulls! I've heard a lot of good stuff coming out of retail lately. I always thought those "blaster" boxes and those "variety" packs were just junk that was left over and there was no chance of anything being in them. Maybe I'll have to start picking those up. I better befriend someone who works at the local Target store and get a discount. :)

My best pull so far was on National Card Trading Day. I went to the local shop and got my free cards and decided to buy 2 packs of 2004 Donruss Diamond Kings because I've been hearing a lot about them. There were 2 packs left in the box in the display case. I asked the lady to please take them out for me so I could buy them when my mom came back with my money. When she came back another guy that worked there was opening a new box for some other customers. They took 10 of the 12 packs I believe and there were 2 left so I took them. Then I remembered that I had the 2 packs already put away for me earlier, so I asked him to get me those and put the other 2 back in the box. Thank God I did that because when I went out to the car to open the 2 packs, the second pack had a Jason Jennings Auto/Jersey/Bat #1/1!! I was so pumped and when I showed the people in the store they gave me a free nice "brick" to put it in. I still haven't sold it and I don't know if I ever will unless I get an offer I cant resist!

Thanks for reading:)

One of the greatest moments was during the start of 2004. The Fleer Hoops Hot Prospects are indeed popular this year w/ the game graphs on fire. The first time I saw the Carmelo Anthony, (of course like everyone else) hoped to pull one. Since the card is very limited #'ed 400 & on avg the game graphs don't come in 1 per box which makes it very slim.

The price for the Hobby version is pretty high $7-$9 per pack/$90-$110 store prices & you only get 3 gu/patch/auto not (5) like last years. My first taste of this product was during Dec2003 when I got a box for my bday/christmas :hop: After busting open through 14 packs I figured the last is the (Auto) & it turned out to be one those weird boxes w/o the correct odds. Very dissapointed I was , nothing you can do about it except move on.

For the next 1-2 months budget could only afford the $1.95 retail packs/$4.95 blister/ or $9.95 Hot Prospects stuff & no luck on it since they seeded retail odds at 1:48 overall for the content. One day my g/f & I picked up my friend to take him to see his PO, I had $25 & just had to get some BKB cards. Luckily the owner sold the last few packs of the Hoops & 1 more unopened fresh box sitting on the shelf. Knowing the price at $8 per pack, I could only get 3 max. I chose 2 & my g/f picked 1 then for oddball reason put it back to pick a different one. On our way home, the (1st) pack contained a Slavo Vranes patch rc /500 (2nd) pack had a Vince Carter Hot Materials jersey /375 then the (3rd) my g/f opens hers and I got a Carmelo Anthony patch/auto 046/400. :p

Its true the card isn't the rarest/most expensive/coolest card in the world, but the fact it was one of my greatest moments. Getting a Melo in a pack / going 3 for 3 100% was the first time!/ & yet even a flat tire on our way home couldn't stop my great day!

wow posse thats a great story!!!!!!
