Major League Baseball's massive "Official World Series Film Collection" is a collector's item in itself.
If you've been really, really good this year, feel free to put the latest release from Major League Productions and A&E Home Entertainment on your holiday wish list.

It's not cheap, but the mammoth boxed set of World Series videos was released this week. Featuring 20 DVDs containing over 49 hours of video, The Official World Series Film Collection is getting some positive reviews.

While fans of the pre-War era won't be excited, the collection consists of archival footage and TV broadcast segments of World Series games from 1943-2008. Housed in a hardboound book-like case, the DVDs are nestled in individual cardboard sleeves with the video divided into 14 eras of baseball history. There are even spaces available inside the box to add future World Series DVDs to the collection.

The DVDs don't contain any extra features, but there is a 58-page pictorial and retrospective featuring a foreward by Bob Costas. The pictorial booklet includes historic baseball photographs and images of vintage baseball memorabilia.

Suggested retail price is $229, but you can find them at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Furl%3Ds earch-alias%253Daps%26field-keywords%3DWorld%2BSeries%2Bfilm%2Bcollection%26x% 3D0%26y%3D0&tag=vintagebp-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325)http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=vintagebp-20&l=ur2&o=1 for quite a bit less.
