how do you estimate the price of a basketball card collection, I got a little collection(about 70 cards (good cards)) and I wanna sell them, but I have no idea of what the price could be like, any ideas.

well, if you had sometime, you could go to beckett.com and look all your cards up individually through beckett.com's free price guide, or you could go to your nearest store that sold magazines and pick up a becktt magazine that should tell prices for all your cards (make sure you get the basketball issue and not a different sports issue) beckett is a monthly magazine that i would say 90% of card collectors trust/use to price their cards.

can you link me to the price thing on beckett

Cant link to it, but i can give directions....

go to this website www.beckett.com, on the right of your screen, you should see a box that says 'Try out our Online Price Guide for FREE', where it says Enter Player Name...enter the players name that you want to look up. Hit 'Look Up Player' to continue on. The next page you will see is a page that you put all the information for the card on (player/year/set/# of card/sport) fill in the criteria and hit the 'Search' button. Next you will come upon a screen that has your card (if you put in all the criteria for the specific card). Click the 'View Price' link on that page, it will take you to another page that shows you what the high price is (the price on the far right) and the low price is (left price).

To Re-search for another card, either click your browsers back button, or click the 'home' link on the top of the page (or the Beckett.com banner)...

Note: if you click the back button, your internet will ask you to re-send the information to the website, click yes and it will take you to the 2nd page in the process (the page where you input info).

Note: it is easier to blank out the 'Enter Player Name' slot on the first page and click submit...that way you wont have to delete the players name on the 2nd page the second time around.

If you have any questions, just post-'em

Good Luck!

If you list all the cards I will be happy to give you a fair market value based upon live market research as well as historical notes

Also note that just because you have a Michael Jordan card does not mean it is worth a lot/its good. I have michael jordan cards that I have trouble giving away for the price of shipping

You must be putting something in wrong, make sure everything is put in correctly...the database of beckett.com has almost EVERY card ever made, besides for cards serially #'d to very low numbers..ie 1/1s

so let me get this straight

the set name is like upper deck and stuff right?

the year is just what i see on the back right?

and the number is just any number of the card that i see on the back?

pretty much...try this...dont put in the year (it might be what is wrong...the year on the back of the card isnt what you go by with basketball cards) see if that works, if it doesnt...come back.
