Understanding this is one bloggers opinon on... Recently I have been lacking in doing another blog posting but I think its time for one from me I guess after seeing praise my way for something I did. Understanding this is one bloggers opinon on things and well lately I thought it was time for me to discuss the matter. I find it puzzling I am willing to go an extra mile to find or locate things for my fellow collectors at times and then have them be successful in finding what they need over what I still lack at times. Just recently I made a deal on SCF with DaClyde nice guy and as well I hope to meet with him sometime down the road but thats another topic for future to discuss. As I was saying I made a deal with him after taking his wantlists of the 1989 Topps LJN Talking Baseball Cards with me when I went to the National Convention in Chicago. I found 4 of the cards he needed and then he went on to thank me. Like I said it puzzles me I do well with others needs compared to my own. If anyone has read my 'ABOUT ME' section on my webpage you'll see what usually happens when I start something. I just wish for once I could locate alot off my wantlists like 10 pages of stuff at a show or shop so I could feel great about accomplishing things off my needs. I know its humanly impossible but I still have that glimmer of hope that it could come true. Another thing would be to hear how if someone took my wantlists with them to a shop or show and they were successful in finding them for me would they get the high praise most certainly they would in my eyes they would be joining the likes of great card bounty-hunters I have had dealt with in the past those being

Turd Ferguson-Who knocked out in 2009 at least 5 sets at one show mine you it was great to get that many at the time off my lists.
DrPid-I wonder where he locates some of my needs usually when I have heard from the good old Piddy man I cant believe hes located some of the rarity of things, currently I am worried about this collector cause I havent heard from him lately.
Molina00-Purchased some sets I was interested in for me and we made deals and we both came out ahead plus I greatful to be his 300 Milestone trade.
Loqtus-Best bud when it comes to talking about cards and is willing to hear this old codger talk about the stuff he missed out on the 80s and early 90s and located some great things too.
Yazfan71-Located a nice hard to locate foreign card for my collection and his insights on his collections is nice to read.
Spuds1961-The guy is great with the breaks and willing to deal at anytime and got me started on my 2010 UD GUed collection. Hopefully in 2014 he can attend his first ever National Convention.

Yet through it all I wonder when someone looks at my wantlists do they think its easy to locate the things I need or not sometimes I ask them but to them I am just a crazy card collecting fool. This post of a blog is simple for all the card companies to take note. Sure I could have posted this message in time for this years National Convention I thought to wait until prior to next years but, after reading someones else problem I figured I might as well do it now while its fresh on my mind. First off I will applaude part-time member and a great person that is great with insights and judging the way he handles things in his area I hope he sees this blog and replies to me back in either a private message or next year if I see him at the National he remembers me. This person is Dr. Brian Price of In The Game. Why do I applaude him simple he and his staff he has working with him they have knowledge on everything they have made unlike some companies. This where I wish the other card companies would take note so if there is a question of a product they have someone on hand that can answer all the questions about that product and not just hire someone that has no knowledge of things prior to their hiring. Case in point I went to the National in 2011 and asked Topps during a Q&A session why they created a checklist of a product and not produced certain ones sure the product in question was 4 years old at the time and they didn't give a defined answer they did a lil sing and dance routine to avoid my question the old smoke and mirrors trick if you will that might work if I was young collector but I am not one. Another case is if you create a High-End Market Product that includes GUed Patch cards make notes on every subject that you cut up Identify the player how hard is it to create a data base on product see the sample I created maybe you could use it

Now with all that done I don't mind if any of the card companies would take note and if they want to hire me I wouldn't mind it. I am not the most techincal savy minded individual to work on a computer but with a data base like this might help and in the long run on it might be helpful to collectors so if there is questions on a card or cards that are being sold on ebay we can identify them as legit cards and not fakes. Usually I start off with every post here with a greetings. Since this is my first blog entry I thought I do like it if I were letting you read an article from a magazine or a newspaper. So Today is August 13th 2010 Friday the 13th......(insert Twilight Zone theme) Anyways I guess the reasoning behind my rant is to discuss what I believe is wrong with some collectors these days compair it with when I started off in collecting.

The first thing I'll point out is simple the cost of cards these days. My mother can't understand why sometimes I spend over $100 everytime I go to the card shops or at shows. Simple the price and plus its getting harder and harder to find shops nearby or shows to attend to trade with other dealers but more on that later. Card companies keep raising prices on things and with less packs and cards its hard to maintain a collection. The second thing is as I mentioned earlier the shop location. Back when I first started collecting you could look up in the local phone book and find about 3-5 shops in the area some having simular stuff at the same prices or cater to certain cliental. Nowadays you can't locate maybe 1-3 shops nearby if your lucky ever since the internet traders go on line to find the missing ones they need only to be still looking until they finish their search. Me I like to go out of the state or country to locate some of the missing items sure its time consumming but I make the effort to go and try to find the missing items and try to keep a good eye out for any great finds or help a fellow collector out while I am traveling more on that later as well. The third thing is when I take my wantlists I manage on average about 5-20 cards if its a good shop not within the my usual areas of shopping. I generally take a few other peoples lists with me if I can find anything for myself then I usually have the luck in locating something for another person and hoping that they are lucky in locating stuff I need where they live or shop by. Some collectors aren't in my eyes collectors they do it for $$$$ or they flip the high RCs or they get the high RCs only to quickly get them graded before a set-builder as myself can get them in the raw condition to place them within the 9-pocket sheets to join its other brethern in the set.
