My Revival of this blog.

We'll see how long this lasts, but since more people are looking at blogs now. I though I would post.

First to talk about. My collections, I collect Dustin Tokarski and Paul Bissonnette. And I have run into a couple of decisions when it comes to these collections.

1st, buying cards to keep up with the collection. Tokarski has new Panini rookie cards and will have a bunch of new cards this year. I can get them at a lower price, most of them. But my problem is coming in that should I buy the cards to keep up, or buy the ones I like and stay with those. I have done that, up until the new stuff is out.

2nd, buying items for Paul Bissonnette. Lets be honest, he doesn't have many cards that I don't have. I am going to just buy the last few eventually. But the new problem is, should I just buy some 08 09 product to pull Bissonnette. Or just keep trying to hunt them.

Now, my next topic. The different brands of cards. And this is my opinion.

I like it, I will buy it. Simple.
But personal opinion with design and authenticity and customer service.
Nothing beats ITG, they have a range of just patches and different great cards.

So. If you have any Paul Bissonnette, I'll take them. I want doubles, triples. Etc.

It didn't go as well as I thought it was going to be. It had hits, just not the hits that I thought I would get.

It was my first real full box break since January, I think the next box I bust will be for my birthday.

#1. Boston Bruins vs. #6 Carolina Hurricanes
My prediction- Bruins in 6
Reason- The still have more depth than the team the are facing. Cam Ward can only do so much for the Canes.
#2. Washington Capitals vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins
My prediction- Penguins in 5
Reason- Varlamov looked good, but that was against the kind of lousy Rangers offense. No way he can stop Malkin and Crosby. The depth of the defense is better on the Penguins than on the Capitals.

West
#2. Detroit Red Wings vs. #8 Anaheim Ducks
My prediction- Ducks in 7
Reason-Long hard defensive series, the underdogs win again.
#3 Vancouver Cabucks vs. #4. Chicago Blackhawks
My prediction- Blackhawks in 6
Reason-The young talented Hawks offense is dangerous. Loungo can only do so much. With Toews, Kane, and the defense, the Hawks can score.

Alright, the Penguins won game six to end the series with the Flyers! They won the game 5-3 and came back from a 3 goal deficit.

Wonder who they will see in round two.

Instead of a video I will use this for today.

Canes vs Devils is even at 3-3
Hawks vs Flames has the Hawks at 3-2
Rangers vs Caps is even at 3-3
Ducks vs Sharks has the Ducks at 3-2

Now onto some Zack news.

My roller team won this week, our first win. The final score was 6-5.

Also, I bought my first hockey box since January. I worked for the last couple days to pay for my new box. The box I will be breaking is a 2008-2009 Between the Pipes. It is my first ITG product box break, and I have seen some really nice stuff from it.

The Pens lost tonight, they had no "pop" or "jump". They play next on Saturday.

Other series notes

Detroit wins series 4-0. Nice try by the Jackets, they are young and will be back.

Devils win game 5, lead series 3-2. This one could go to seven games. Both teams have a shot.

Ducks win game 4, lead series 3-1. This one could be the big upset. I hate to make a sharks joke, but heres one. What does the Titanic and the Sharks have in common.

Game 4 Pens vs. Flyers

Tonight was game 4 of the Penguins vs. Flyers. The Penguins won 3-1! It was a great game by Marc-Andre Fleury, and Tyler Kennedy. Fleury made some seriously great saves.

Notes on the game.
-The Flyers had 8 power plays, and didn't score one goal on any of them.
-Matt Cooke took a couple penalties, but also made up for it with 2 assists.
-Crosby did not kick the puck in, it went off the shaft of his stick, and then off of his upper leg.

In other playoff notes..
-Red Wings beat Blue Jackets 4-1 (Series 3-0)
I would like to see Mason get a playoff win.

-Canucks beat Blues 3-2 (ot) (Win series 4-0)
The Canucks looked good. Swept the Blues, who do have a bright future.

-Canes beat Devils 4-3 (Series 2-2)
One of the closest series of the playoffs. The Canes scored with 0.02 seconds left.

-Sharks beat Ducks 4-3 (Series 2-1)
The Sharks needed this one. it brings it closer. Lots of the goals were scored by d-men.

I did have a redemption mailday today. It was a Devin Setoguchi 07-08 Fleer Ultra. Nothing huge, but it was a nice pull out of a blaster. I got it in 3 weeks from UpperDeck, good turnaround.

I will start off by saying playoff hockey is awesome. I just wish I could be watching the WHL and OHL playoffs to.

The Blackhawks lost tonight. That series is a rough one to say the least.

The Bruins won again to bring the series to 3-0. This one looks over.

The Capitals won tonight over the Rangers to bring the series back to 2-1.

Nothing big...

Short post today, nothing serious or long. Couple more playoff games in the book tonight.

Big win for the Blackhawks, they played a great 3rd period and a great OT. Havlat was the only player on the ice that has scored a playoff goal in his career on either team.

Ducks beat Sharks 2-0
Blackhawks beat Flames 3-2 (ot)
Red Wings beat Blue Jackets 4-1
Bruins beat Canadians 4-2

Notes on the games tonight. Short "tid bits"

-The Ducks look like they could steal this series, but the Sharks can't lose can they?

-(Already typed the Hawks notes)

-The Red Wings look like they have this series, although the Blue Jackets can get this back in two ways. A. They shut down and "buckle down on D" B. Steve Mason plays out of his mind, he can too.

-The Bruins winning in a close game. This series could be a knockout drag out series.

Since I can't make a post without saying something about the Penguins I will.

And a series note.
Daniel Carcillo has been suspended from game 2 of the Pens vs Flyers series for his hit on Max Talbot late in game 1. I think the suspension was worthy of the crime. It was late in the game, the game was out of the Flyers reach, and it was a shot to the head.

Also, no posts on the blog for Friday or Saturday. I will be away. And on Sunday it will be my second (playing) game for my hockey league.

Game 1 Pens vs. Flyers

Well good news, Penguins win game one of their series. The final score was 4-1. The Penguins got goals from Sidney Crosby, Tyler Kennedy, Evgeni Malkin, and Mark Eaton.

In my opinion, the Penguins third line had a huge game.(Staal, Kennedy, Cooke) Not only did Kennedy get a huge goal, but the whole line played both sides of the ice very well tonight.

Alright now I can do a mailday. (and maybe more)

I'll start with hockey talk and random, and finish with the card.

Alright, the Isles got the #1 pick in the draft lottery. (They had a %48 of getting it) Now the question is who will they pick. They might also trade the pick to another team *cough cough Leafs* I think if they hold onto it, Taveras will be the pick. Also, just a side story to the lottery, why can't they have a bingo type machine and just do it live. Instead of the envelopes.

I might also put a video per entry, depending on if I could find one, and depending how I feel.

Alright this is part two of my predictions.

(I also figured that 1 post per day seems good for a blog.)

First off, I didn't get the mail that I thought I would today, so I will postpone the showing.

Second, just because I am going to talk Penguins, I am going to start off with this...

Alright back to what I started this for. Kinda..(there might be randomness scattered throughout this blog)

(8) Montreal Canadians vs. (1) Boston Bruins
Winner: Boston in 6
Reason: They have more depth than Montreal. The Canadians are very streaky.

(7) New York Rangers vs. (2) Washington Capitals
Winner: Rangers in 6
Reason: They look like a team that can beat the Capitals. I am not to sure about Theodore.

(6) Carolina Hurricanes vs. (3) New Jersey Devils
Winner: Carolina in 6
Reason: The Canes are really hot right now, and it seems that they will rid it through this round. Not sure how they will do in round two, but this is just round one.

(5) Philadelphia Flyers vs. (4) Pittsburgh Penguins
Winner: Penguins in 5
Reason: My hometown team, and my pick to win this series. Malkin and Crosby, and the Penguins are riding a hot streak of their own.

Alright, that is the first round. We will see how things turn out, but there is nothing like the playoffs.

Now hopefully tomorrow I will get the mail I have waited for.

I will update this as much as possible, but not promising a lot.

I'm pretty excited about the Penguins getting home ice in the playoffs. They are playing the Flyers. Another interstate rivalry, I see the Penguins winning it in 5. The way that they turned the season around after getting Chris Kunitz and Bill Guerin is great to see.

Also, Malkin won the Art Ross scoring title. :party0053: Congrats to Geno!

Here is how I see the 2009 1st round of the playoffs going through. I will start in the west. Tomorrow I will finish the East. I will also be hopefully posting a mailday.

(8) Anaheim Ducks vs. (1) San Jose Sharks
Winner:Sharks in 5
Reason: Even though the Ducks have the "hot" line of Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan. The Sharks are an all around better team.

(7) Columbus Blue Jackets vs. (2) Detroit Red Wings
Winner: Red Wings in 6
Reason:Mason might "steal" a game, but overall the depth of the Red Wings will get them through this round. Even though it might be harder for the Wings in later rounds, due to goaltending.

(6) St. Louis Blues vs. (3) Vancouver Canucks
Winner: Canucks in 5
Reason: The Canucks have the advantage at goldtender with Luongo.

(5) Calgary Flames vs. (4) Chicago Blackhawks
Winner: Blackhawks in 6
Reason: This series will be a long hard fought out one. The youth of the Blackhawks get them through this.
