I got home from work on Friday and I was absolutely knackered, it truly was an awful day. Thankfully when i got here, I had a big bubble mailer waiting for me. I was rather puzzled as I had not made any big trades lately but when I opened it, I was absolutely chuffed! In my hands were a number of Roy and Brodeur base and inserts cards, all of which were on my want list!

It took me a good 2 hours to ticked them all off of my list and then put them neatly in my PC folders. In a nutshell, ...

While I concentrate most of my efforts on my player collections, I think it's always nice to have a set on the go. Maybe it's just nostalgia or maybe just the fact that you can actually complete those (unlike a Patrick Roy collection...let's be realistic here!). Since I came back to collecting in 2006 I've completed a few sets on the side, my two favorite ones being the Hometown Heroes from the 2005-2006 release to the 2007-2008 one and of course my Ultimate 8 battle of Quebec one. Just a general thought on these...I love the way we have been having one a month lately! The hype it builds up and the break threads are hugely entertaining. I'd like to say a big thank you to the staff members who take the time to both organize and conduct those breaks.

If I was on the right side of the ocean, i'd love to do one myself! Can only imagine what it's like to bust that many packs! But then again, it might be absolutely heartbreaking to ship some of the goodies away... ...

You know how on New Years Everyone takes resolutions that they never stick to? Well, this year, mine was to spend a little bit less on cards. Yeah...that didnt work...10 days in and i've bought a book of BBR, a box of SPX and a few singles...I'm on par for the worst resolution performance ever...

That being said, I have made my mind on my PC dilemma, from now on; I will only collect two goaltenders. I elected to go for Roy (let's face it I could never ever drop him) and....Brodeur. ...

Being thinking about this for a while...I collect 3 players, it started with Roy when I was a kid, then it stopped for years before starting again with a vengeance in 2006. Then I thought; Roy is my definite favorite but I do also like Brodeur...and so another collection began...
