An issue with eBay...

Rate this Entry
Hey everyone,

Well, here is another blog about something that has me steamed right now. So, if you care to listen then sit back, relax, and smok'em if you got'em.

Since its release, I have been working on completing the 2003 UD Patch Collection set to include ALL Base, SPs, and the 62 manufactured patch cards.

Well, the other day, there was a 2003 UD Patch Collection MVPs Stan Musial patch on eBay. The seller (whom shall remain nameless) had an opening bid of $0.99 with a BIN of $10. All in all, I would have paid $3.99 to include shipping on this. Luckily, I won some other cards of the same set with the seller. So now, I am lookin at reduced shipping fees and 3 manufactured patches for about $11 total. No big deal right?

WRONG!...

The next day, I open up eBay and see I have a case pending on the Stan Musial card with the seller's excuse, "I damaged the card during packaging and am not comfortable selling it." I have been refunded over half the total shipping and the $0.99 for the card.

NOW, my gripe is that I think I am being screwed with. I have a theory that this unnamed seller is unhappy his $15 card sold for $0.99 and he wants an excuse to get out of the sale just to relist the card. Normally, I wouldnt have thought this way but the BIN is what is driving me towards this theory.

Am I wrong for thinking this way or should I let it go and just find another Musial to finish this set? It's been 8 years since the release and I am only 75% finished with it. The cards remaining are the toughest ones to get (Musial, Ted Williams, Mantle, etc).

Ok, I got the frustration out. Guess it's time to continue the quest to finish the set!

Thanx for reading,
-BAM
