It borders on the Adriatic Sea.
It has mainly mountainous terrain.
Its chief export is (or, was in 1984, anyway) chrome.
I know these facts because they German postage stamp for sale in my mind through the use of a mnemonic device. A mnemonic device (as you may [or may not] remember) is a memory aid that helps you retain and recall information. Many times it takes the form of a simple rhyming line:

i before e, except after c.
30 days has September, April, June, and November.
In 14-hundred and 93, Columbus sailed the deep blue sea.

Other mnemonics come in the form of songs. For example, I learned to spell the word “encyclopedia” from watching Mickey Mouse Club on TV and singing along with Jiminy Cricket.

Similarly, with the help of a song presented by Captain Kangaroo, I conquered the spelling of M-A Double-S A-C-H-U-S-E Double-T S. (Shocking to report, there is nary a video of this to be found anywhere on the internets.)

As regards today’s subject nation, my erudition derives from yet another product of that alleged vast wasteland otherwise known as the boob tube – the idiot box – television. It was the third season of, inarguably, one of the best programs ever produced for that medium. In this particular episode, Coach Ernie Pantusso is helping Sam Mallone study for his GED exam . When Sam complains about his inability to remember facts, Coach fills him in on his handy-dandy learning technique, which, in this case, consists of geographical facts sung to the tune of a classic spiritual turned NFL fight-song:
You border on the Adriatic.
Your land is mostly mountainous.
And your chief export is chrome.
